Meridian Career Fair
Plans are underway for the Meridian School District Career Fair for 7th and 8th graders attending MP3 and Meridian Midddle School on February 27th. We are looking for family and community members who are willing to share their professional experiences with students. This year, students specifically requested more representation in the following areas:
• Arts & Media — actors, musicians, animators, photographers, and related fields
• Medical & Health — specialty doctors, researchers, chiropractors
• Science & Space — careers connected to scientific research, engineering, and space exploration.
If you work in one of these areas and are willing to participate, please fill out the professional career information form by Thursday December 4th. Thank you!
Accepting Referrals for the Highly Capable Program by Dec. 13
We are accepting referrals for the highly capable program. Highly capable students are those who perform or show potential for performing at significantly advanced academic levels when compared with others of their age, experiences, or environments. Teachers and parents may refer any student in grades K-11 for assessment.
To refer a student for assessment, please complete the Highly Capable referral form in English or in Spanish by Dec. 15, 2025 for eligibility in the 2026-27 school year.
If you have questions about the Highly Capable Program visit our website or contact Rebecca Montgomery, highly capable program coordinator, at 360-318-2456 or rmontgomery@meridian.wednet.edu.
Snowflake Art Video- December 15
Kick off the winter season with a snowflake art project! You will need paper, pencil and a marker. Extension students, you are welcome to submit a photo of your art to your SLPC on December 15th for weekly contact in lieu of your traditionally scheduled weekly contact. This will allow your SLPC time to get your monthly review approved and back to you for parent acknowledgment before we leave for winter break.

MP3 Campus Monthly Reviews
Winter Spirit Days!
WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION
As the season changes and the weather turns colder, it is a good time to take a moment to review our winter weather procedures. Depending on conditions (which could include snow, flooding, power outages, etc.), schools could close for the day. MP3 is part of the Meridian School District so please make sure you are checking information for Meridian School District rather than your resident district.
As a friendly reminder, if the Meridian School District is having a late start due to weather conditions, the MP3 campus classes will be canceled for the day. We have families traveling outside our district boundaries and we want to keep our families safe during inclement weather. Please familiarize yourself with the information below to be prepared for changes in the school schedule.
How will I be notified of school closures or delays?
A message will automatically come to you if you are a parent or guardian. You can update your contact information in Skyward Family Access or by calling your school office. Alerts are sent through ParentSquare. ParentSquare uses your contact information from Skyward. You do not need to activate your account in ParentSquare to receive alerts.
Where can I find weather or emergency information?
Meridian School District uses a variety of methods to keep you informed:
An email, text, app notification and/or phone call will automatically be sent to you via ParentSquare.
Tune to local media: 790 AM, 96.5 FM, 104.1 FM or Seattle media.
Check www.meridian.wednet.edu
Check @meridianschooldistrict505 on Facebook or Instagram or @Meridian505 on Twitter
The district will continue to use FlashAlert Newswire to notify local TV and radio media of school closures or delays.
Where can I find more information?
Visit our Weather Notifications webpage for more information about inclement weather and delays.
Campus Attendance
Also, if your child will be absent from campus classes for a whole week please make arrangements with your SLPC to fulfill weekly contact during that same week of the absences.
