Principal's Message Principal's Message

Dear Brooker Creek Families,

Thank you so much for all of the kind words, thoughtful notes, and special items shared with me during Principal Appreciation Week. Your kindness and support truly meant a great deal to me.

I especially enjoyed seeing our students have so much fun throughout the week participating in the themed dress-up days. Their smiles, creativity, and school spirit made the week even more special.

I hope all of our students enjoy their day off on Monday and return refreshed and ready for another great week. I also look forward to seeing many of our students and families at the BCE/PTA Fall Festival next Friday from 5:30–8:00 p.m. It promises to be a fun evening for our entire Bobcat community!

Thank you again for your continued support of Brooker Creek Elementary and for helping make our school such a special place.

One of the most remarkable students we have here at Brooker Creek and therefore no surprise that Mrs. Miller and Mr. Rademacher have chosen him as the October Student of the month is… Ethan Conway. Ethan is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, leadership, and character. He approaches every aspect of school with determination, responsibility, and a positive attitude. Ethan takes pride in completing his work on time and strives to perform at his highest level. He has participated in News Crew and currently serves as a Safety Patrol and Multicultural Club member. Ethan is also a proud member of the NEHS. What truly sets Ethan apart is his outstanding character and enormous heart. His kindness, compassion, and willingness to support others make him an exceptional friend and role model.

Congratulations to Ethan for this outstanding accomplishment.

Walker Gate Procedures Walker Gate Procedures

Due to recent safety incidents involving vehicles and students in the east parking lot at the front of the school, we ask all parents and families to follow the expectations outlined below for the blue walker gate located next to the bike rack. These expectations are for both AM and PM dismissal. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support in helping us ensure the safety of all our students.

Students can stand up to unkind behavior by using direct assertiveness, getting peer support, and reporting incidents to adults.

If a student is exposed to unkind behavior, they should:

  • Stay calm and walk away: Do not give the other student the emotional reaction or audience they want. Move quickly toward a safe place and find an adult.
  • Speak up firmly: Use a calm, confident voice and direct phrases like "Stop it," "That's not funny," or "Knock it off" without acting physically aggressive.
  • Use the buddy system: Stay close to friends or groups so you are not isolated.
  • Immediately report to a trusted adult: Tell a teacher, school counselor, parent, or principal what is happening.

Lightning & Severe Weather Dismissal Procedures Lightning & Severe Weather Dismissal Procedures

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

Brooker Creek Elementary will always make every effort to follow our normal dismissal procedures during light to moderate rain. If lightning is detected within 10 miles of our campus at dismissal time, dismissal will be temporarily postponed until it is safe for students and staff to be dismissed.

However, during severe weather or torrential rain, the following alternative dismissal procedures will be used:

  • Car riders will be dismissed from the Multi-Purpose Room.

  • Walkers and bike riders will need to be picked up at the front of the school at the blue gate.

  • PreK and VPK students will continue to use their normal pick-up procedures at the blue gate.

A notification regarding walkers and bike riders will be sent closer to dismissal time as we continue to closely monitor weather conditions.

Thank you in advance for your patience, flexibility, and cooperation. Alternative dismissal procedures may take a little longer than normal as we work to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

If you have any questions, please contact the front office.

As a friendly reminder, we ask that parents refrain from checking students out of school following Family Lunch, as doing so results in missed instructional time and valuable learning opportunities.
