A Welcome from the Principal

September 2026

Dear Birch Hill Families,

I am so happy and proud to be joining the vibrant Birch Hill Elementary School community as your new principal. As we awaken from the summer and our students, staff, and families return to school, the building truly comes to life again—with the energy, excitement, laughter, and learning that make Birch Hill such a special place.

I am looking forward to getting to know our students and families and becoming an active part of this wonderful community. There are many opportunities for families to be involved in the life of our school and in the education of your child, and I hope you will take advantage of those opportunities throughout the year.

Together, we can continue to build a school community where every child feels welcomed, valued, supported, and encouraged to do their very best. I am excited for the year ahead and look forward to all that we will accomplish together.

Welcome back, Birch Hill Lions! I can't wait to meet you all!

Remembering September 11

As we approach September 11, we take a moment to remember and honor the lives lost and all those affected by the tragic events of 9/11. We also recognize the courage of the first responders and countless individuals who came together to help others. May we continue to teach our children the importance of kindness, compassion, unity, and caring for one another.

Birch Hill Cross Country – It’s Not Too Late to Join!

Birch Hill Cross Country is already underway, but it’s not too late to join the team! Open to students in Grades 2–5, the program is part of the Nashua Elementary School PAL Cross Country program and provides a fun opportunity for students to stay active, build their running skills, and be part of a supportive team.

Practices are held at Birch Hill every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:25–4:15 p.m., with races scheduled at Nashua High School North later this fall.

Interested students and families are encouraged to register and join us! The program also relies on parent volunteers to help during practices and race days, and additional coaches are always welcome. Come run with the Birch Hill Lions—it’s not too late to be part of the team!

A Reminder About School Bus Safety

The safety of our students is everyone’s responsibility. We ask families to please take a few minutes to remind children that riding the bus safely means following the bus driver's directions, remaining seated, keeping hands and objects to themselves, using appropriate language, and treating others with kindness and respect.

A school bus is an extension of the school day, and the same expectations for safe, respectful, and responsible behavior apply. When students make good choices on the bus, they help ensure that every Birch Hill Lion arrives at school—and home—safely.

Fire Drills

I wanted to let you know about two unexpected fire drills that took place at Birch Hill Elementary School last week.

While these drills were not originally planned, they provided our students and staff with an opportunity to practice our safety procedures. Everyone responded appropriately, and we are proud of how our students and staff safely and calmly followed directions.

Safety drills are an important part of helping us ensure that everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency. We appreciate our students for their cooperation and our staff for helping ensure that the drills were conducted safely.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in keeping Birch Hill Elementary School a safe place for all students.
