Redmen Review

Junior and Senior students had the opportunity to visit the Lake Area Technical College Career and College Fair last Tuesday. While there, students had the opportunity to chat with businesses about what their fields entail, visit with over 20 colleges, and also take a trip to the South Dakota National Guard Readiness Center to explore military options.

Students took advantage of the day and came away with lots of great information and hands-on experiences while learning about different options for after high school graduation.

Ms. Chan's Biology students, including Cote pictured above, used hot plates to liquefy gel and then placed small random objects that represented different cell organelles into cell molds before carefully pouring in the melted gel. After completing their models, they did an oral recitation to identify each organelle and explain its function.

Congrats to the XC team for placing 2nd at the Region Meet in Webster this week! The top 3 varsity teams and Top 20 individuals qualify for the State XC Meet at Heart Ranch in Rapid City on Saturday Oct 24. Best of luck as you finish out a great season!

A shout out to RAELYNN FRYER this week for stepping up and helping out.

Raelynn spearheaded her ACT's pumpkin decorating for the Student Council's fall activity and also helped spread a little extra cheer among SHS staff with a treat. Thanks for brining some sunshine during a cloudy and cold week, Raelynn!
