Fairfax Safety Update
Dear Fairfax Families and Staff,
Earlier this morning, we had an exterminator come to Fairfax to take care of a beehive located in the outside wall. A few bees made their way into the building through a vent, at which point a student was stung once. That student is thankfully just fine, and I truly appreciate the quick response of staff in ensuring that they were okay. The studentβs parents have been notified.
I have since called the parents/guardians of Fairfax students who have bee sting allergies to inform them of this incident today and see what additional supports, if any, are needed here at school. I have also spoken with our staff who have bee sting allergies to ensure they are supported. The health and safety of our students and staff is my top priority.
If your student has a bee sting allergy (or any other serious allergy/medical issue) that is not already documented with the school, please be sure it is recorded in their Infinite Campus profile.
The exterminator will do a follow up this afternoon after school hours to ensure the situation is addressed fully.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andrea C. Walker
