Message from the Principal
Dear St. Vincent de Paul Families,
As the beautiful colours of autumn begin to fade and we prepare for the colder months ahead, November provides us with an opportunity to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. October was a wonderful month at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, filled with faith, learning, service, and community. We are grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment of our students, staff, and families who continue to make our school such a vibrant and welcoming place to learn and grow.
This month, we are especially reminded of the example set by our patron saint, St. Vincent de Paul, who dedicated his life to serving those most in need with compassion, humility, and love. His example continues to inspire our school community as we strive to live our faith through service to others. We are incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our students and families during our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Together, our school community collected several boxes of non-perishable food items in support of the Mississauga Food Bank. These donations will help support local families facing food insecurity and demonstrate how our students are living the Gospel values of charity, kindness, and service. Thank you to our Youth Faith Ambassadors for their leadership in organizing and promoting this important social justice initiative. Through their efforts, our students continue to learn that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
November is a month of remembrance. As a school community, we will gather for our Remembrance Day Liturgy on November 11 at 10:30 a.m. All families are warmly invited to attend as we honour and pray for those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Through prayer and reflection, we encourage our students to be people of peace, justice, and hope in our world.
Learning remains at the heart of all we do. Students continue to engage in meaningful learning experiences, develop important skills, and grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to celebrating their successes. As we approach the end of the first reporting period, families will soon receive an update on their child's progress and learning habits.
Progress Reports will be sent home on November 17. These reports provide an opportunity to recognize student strengths, celebrate growth, and identify next steps for continued learning. I strongly encourage all families to participate in Parent-Teacher Interviews on November 19 from 3:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. These conversations are an important part of the home-school partnership and provide valuable opportunities to discuss student progress, ask questions, and work together to support each child's success and well-being. Your involvement in your child's education plays an important role in their growth and achievement, and we look forward to meeting with you.
As we continue our journey together, let us remember the words:
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:14
Thank you for your ongoing support, partnership, and commitment to our school community. Together, we continue to live out our schol motto where a Love of Christ and a Love of Learning in all that we do!
Wishing all of our St. Vincent de Paul families a blessed, peaceful, and faith-filled November.
Sincerely,
Mrs. G. Graci

Treaty Recognition Week (November 1-7)
At St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, we join schools across the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board in recognizing Treaty Recognition Week. This week provides an opportunity to learn about the treaties that shape our shared history and to deepen our understanding of the rights, relationships, and responsibilities that arise from them. We acknowledge that we live, learn, and play on the traditional lands of Indigenous Peoples and are committed to fostering respect, reconciliation, and a greater appreciation of Indigenous cultures, perspectives, and contributions. Through classroom learning, reflection, and meaningful conversations, we continue our journey toward truth, understanding, and building strong relationships with Indigenous communities. Let us take this week as an opportunity to listen, learn, and walk together in the spirit of reconciliation.
Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week
November 15–21, 2026
As we recognize Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week, our school community will come together to celebrate kindness, inclusion, respect, and the importance of looking out for one another.
On Friday, November 20, students in Grades 1–8 will participate in a special interactive assembly presented by Drums et al, entitled "All Different, All Equal: The Spirit of Ubuntu." Through West African drumming, music, and storytelling, students will explore the African philosophy of Ubuntu, which reminds us, "I am because we are."
This powerful message encourages students to recognize that we are all connected and that our words and actions can make a difference in the lives of others. The assembly will reinforce the importance of empathy, celebrating differences, standing up against bullying, and creating a school environment where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and valued.
We are especially proud of our Student Well-Being Team, who created the beautiful poster below to help promote this meaningful event.
Throughout the week, students will also be encouraged to participate in special theme days that celebrate kindness, belonging, and school spirit. We invite families to continue these important conversations at home as we work together to build a caring and inclusive school community.
✨ Together in Faith, Sharing His Light ✨
We are excited to welcome our families and community members to our annual Christmas Concert on December 17. This special evening is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their gifts and talents while celebrating the true meaning of Christmas through song, faith, and community.
As a school named after St. Vincent de Paul, we are also called to serve others, especially those in need. In the spirit of giving, we invite families attending the concert to bring a non-perishable food item to support our Christmas Food Drive. Together, we can make a difference for local families during the holiday season.
We look forward to celebrating this special evening with you and thank you for your continued support of our students and our school community. May this season be filled with hope, joy, and many blessings for your family.
