The information included in these briefs is not intended to be complete and does not replace official Board minutes. Official meeting minutes, agendas, reports, and presentations are available at BoardDocs. Also, the Board meetings are livestreamed and available on our YouTube Channel. We welcome you to follow the issues the School Board is considering and to attend meetings to stay informed.

Update on Vaccines


The Upper Darby School District has partnered with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit to provide vaccinations to teachers, staff, and students aged 16 or older. The second dose for our 16+ aged students is scheduled for May 26th. The 1st dose for students 12-15 years of age is tentatively scheduled for May 26th. More details about upcoming vaccination opportunities have been shared by your child's Principal via email. The registration link will be sent to families who expressed interest once it becomes available.

Proposed Final Budget

In compliance with the Pennsylvania Act 1 Timeline, the Board approved the 2021- 2022 Proposed General Fund Budget. The Final Budget will be presented and voted on on June 15, 2021, and will incorporate any necessary legislative or internal changes. Click HERE to view the Proposed Final Budget.

Blackboard Reach Two-Way Communication Tool - Approved

Blackboard Reach is a two-way messaging tool which allows teachers and administrators to communicate with parents in the family’s home or preferred language. It offers families an opportunity to connect with teachers via text and email and further supports their engagement in their child's education. The District intends to begin implementing this tool as soon as possible. Click HERE to view the board presentation.

Bid award for new student desks and chairs to support return to in-person learning

Properly spacing students during lunchtime has proven a major barrier to returning children to full-time in-person learning. With the purchase of these desks and chairs, we move much closer to being able to bring back all students for full days. Click HERE to view the Supplies Report.

Bond resolution for building and renovation projects throughout the District - Approved

The Board approved a resolution for the issuance of a bond or bonds to fund improvements to school facilities, including but not limited to, a portion of the Aronimink renovation and addition project, a portion of the 8201 N. Lansdowne Ave renovation project, the Clifton Heights Middle School project, and additional projects to be completed each summer such as bathrooms, concrete or blacktop replacement, and major HVAC system improvements.

Board members are volunteers and have a deep desire to serve children, a strong belief in the value of public education and a deep professional respect for the District staff who serve our children and their families every day.
