May 2026
Message from Mrs. Antoniello
May is here, and we are looking forward to a busy and exciting month ahead!
Our First Grade VIP Teas were truly wonderful! A special thank you to our first grade teachers and Ms. Swinchoski for planning such a memorable experience for our students and their families.
We are also looking forward to Field Day on May 20. Please be sure to use this LINK to order your child’s ice cream for the day. Our Spring Concert will take place on May 14, we hope to see many of you there to celebrate our students’ talents.
Staff Appreciation Week is May 4–8. During this time, we celebrate our amazing staff members who work so hard every day at OMS. We encourage you to have your child write a card or letter to their teachers and/or paraprofessionals as a simple but meaningful way to show gratitude.
We will begin our NJSLA testing next week. Please help your child start each day off right by ensuring they arrive at school on time and are well-rested.

WTPS Appoints Dr. David Bleakley as New Superintendent of Schools
As you are aware, Dr. Handerhan announced back in the fall that she will be retiring at the end of this school year. Since then, the Wall Township Board of Education has been actively engaged in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. At last night’s Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education appointed Dr. David Bleakley as the next WTPS Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Bleakley brings with him over 20 years of educational experience, and the Board of Education is thrilled to welcome him to the District.
