Hello Creekside Families,

Candy for Cubs was a success! Thank you to all of our supporters that donated candy! The staff enjoyed witnessing a little bit of Halloween magic. It was super cool to see the cars decorated, pets dressed up, and matching family costumes! As we enter into November, we look forward to continuing to learn and grow. This week marks our seventh week of Hybrid Learning! I am so proud of the work the teachers and staff have done and continue to do. Their determination to make the best of things has been critical in the success of our Hybrid model.

Here are some updates and reminders to keep you informed:

• EAK registration is now open! Spread the word! EAK starts January 4.
• Thank you for your continued support with following our protocols while on campus: respecting the drop off/pick up times, wearing a mask, not sitting at the lunch tables, and leaving campus promptly.

• The district continues to serve food during our Hybrid Schedule on Mondays from 11:00am to 12:00pm at JMMS to AUSD families. If that time doesn't work for you, the district is piloting a 5:00 pm pick up also.
• Child Nutrition Services will begin offering snack pick up for students at CELC during drop off times. Hybrid A parents may pick up snacks on Mondays, and Hybrid B parents may pick up snacks on Thursdays. The grab and go snack bag will contain 5 days worth of snacks. This is available to all students 18 and under. See flyer below for more information.

• Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.

• This week is White Week. Kindergarteners will be doing themed activities around the color white.

• Every Monday is College Spirit Day. Wear your favorite college shirt!

• Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. This Friday, November 6, is Rocking this Learning Day! Share your favorite album or song, or post a picture of you at your favorite concert to social media using #virtualfunfriday, #makeminealpine, and/or #alpinestrong

• Mark your calendars- Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up in November. Teachers will be posting a sign up sheet for times the week of November 16-20. Students will be getting out of school at an earlier time than usual. See the schedule below.

• The district continues to serve food during Hybrid Learning on Mondays from 11:00am to 12:00pm to AUSD families in need at JMMS.

• The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
• The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.

Mr. G's temporary position ends this Friday. We would love to keep him but it is time for him to go help at a different AUSD site. We hope to see him around! It was a pleasure having him on our campus for 6 weeks. Thank you Mr. G for all of your hard work and the support you provided our CELC families.You will be missed! AUSD is currently searching for a teacher to resume his duties.

The 2020-21 “Cubs in the Community” is on a roll. Connecting with kids is one of the most essential parts of building relationships and fostering learning. Mrs. Ripke has set a goal to connect with 100 future, current, and former Cubs in the community by the 100th day of school. If you spot Mrs. Ripke out in the community, please say hi and take a picture with her. Former CELC staff count too! Our pictures may look different this year due to social distancing; however, all of the love will still be there! She can’t wait to hand out hugs again when it is safe. Mrs. Ripke is up to 26 Cub Sightings. See Cub Sightings #25 and #26 below.

To help foster school spirit and stay connected during Distance Learning, the Alpine Union School District will post Virtual Fun Friday Dress Up Days. Postings will be on the AUSD Facebook and Instagram Pages. If you are not already following us on FB or IG, please join us! We hope that you will all participate and post pictures on social media using the hashtags provided. CELC parents may email the pictures to Mrs. Ripke at tripke@alpineschools.net.Here is a list of the Virtual Fun Fridays for November:

• November 6- We are ROCKING this Hybrid Thing! Share your favorite album or song on social media or post a picture of you at your favorite concert.
• November 13- Nothing can ruin our luck; not even a wacky day like Friday the 13th. AUSD has turned Friday 13th an official Day of Luck. Wear your lucky or wacky socks to school.
• November 20- Hats off to Learning! Wear your favorite hat to honor the hard work and dedication of our families and staff. The teamwork has been critical to the success of our students!
• November 27- Family Fun Virtual Friday- Share your favorite memory of your holiday break. What are you thankful for?
