From Mrs Tennenbaum

It has been so wonderful seeing so many of our students earning charms and tickets for demonstrating our ROAR model expectations and our Character of the Month - RESPECT! It warms my heart to see so much kindness shine through this building. A child's education is such a partnership between home and school. It is so important that we work together on all aspects of learning. If you have questions, please reach out to the teachers. One of the nicest and most effective ways to help your child at home with reading, writing, and math is by creating a positive, low-pressure environment where learning feels like an adventure, not a chore. The key is to integrate these skills into everyday life through fun and engaging activities. We will be sending home ways to integrate this at home. For example, Read together: Dedicate a specific time each day to read with your child. Let them choose the book, and take turns reading aloud. Ask questions about the story to boost their comprehension skills. For younger kids, point to the words as you read. Together, we can really help our kids grow.

Start With Hello

What is Start With Hello Week?

Each year, thousands of schools and youth organizations nationwide participate in Start With Hello Week, a national annual event dedicated to making new social connections and creating a sense of belonging among youth. One of our building goals is to ensure that all students feel a sense of belonging while at school. If students feel that, they are most likely to have a successful and rewarding school experience. It all starts with a simple "hello".

Join the Cubscouts!

We have a recruiting "join night" scheduled for Thursday, September 18th at Fairfield Elementary !

Pack 26 has been in existence for nearly 50 years and has influenced the lives of thousands of Pickerington students. As an organization that has previously focused on boys, we now serve both BOYS and GIRLS, ensuring all students have access to the same opportunities. Among many things, we focus on building social skills, instilling a sense of civic duty, and promoting personal awareness and positive self image/self-esteem.

Volunteering in our schools

We welcome family engagement by volunteering in our schools. Below is the registration to be a PoPPs volunteer which is a level 2 volunteer that can come in throughout the week to help supervise recess, lunch or hallways. This volunteer can also be utilized to help with E and I time working with students or may be used to read with students, practice letters and numbers or to help with work completion. You can volunteer your time based on your availability.

If you just want to volunteer for field trips and not be a PoPPs volunteer, you will still need a level 2 background check ( it is good for 3 years) you will follow the process here .

Recognizing our awesome staff members

If someone at Fairfield has gone above and beyond for you or your student, please take a moment to complete the form linked below so we can recognize them at a staff meeting.

Celebrating Awesome

Stay in the Game

This year, our school is partnering with the Columbus Crew to be part of the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network. That means we’re joining a statewide movement to help every student show up, stay connected, and succeed.

The mission of Stay in the Game is simple but powerful: to increase student attendance by connecting school, family, and community so every student has the support they need to succeed. When students come to school every day, they are not just showing up- they are staying in the game, learning new things, building friendships, and working toward future goals.

As part of this program, we’re inviting every student to take the Stay in the Game! Pledge, that says:

I pledge to come to school every day, on time, ready to learn, and to support my classmates in doing the same. Together, we will Stay in the Game!

To celebrate Fairfield’s participation, we have put up a giant Stay in the Game poster in the front hallway. This poster is for all students. If they are willing to take the pledge and commit to showing up for themselves and their classmates, we want them to stop by and add their name. When we sign that poster, we’re saying loud and clear that Fairfield is a place where we all show up, we all support each other, and we all stay in the game.

And remember—we’re not doing this alone. With the Columbus Crew as our partners, we’ve got a whole professional soccer team cheering us on! Just like a soccer team can’t win if players miss the game, Fairfield can’t be at its best unless every one of our students is here, learning and growing together.
