Hallway Happenings PHJH Edition

Am I The Only One That Gets Excited For State Testing?
LETS DO THIS!
Good Evening Amazing Patriots,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and took advantage of the perfect rainy napping or curl up with cozy blanket and a good book or your favorite feel good movie kind of weather. While I have been thoroughly enjoying the sunshine on my face, the rain did force life to slow down a little this weekend, which in the world we live in these days, is probably a very good, and as much as I hate to admit it, much needed thing for many of us.
Tomorrow marks the first day of RISE testing, and there are a few people in my life that think I might be a few slices short of a Grandma Sycamore's loaf because I LOVE state testing time.
Yes, getting ready for state testing is level ten stressful on the spicy wing challenge chart...
Yes, our academic growth is monitored by the state as closely as a toddler eyeballing each and every transactional step of the brightly colored bag of popsicles as they make their way from grocery store until they arrive safely home to the freezer.
Yes, depending on how you frame it, RISE testing can be as about as exciting as watching two highly competitive snails challenge each other to a street fight thumb wrestle, sadly only to realize after the long trek to get face to face that, alas, they have no thumbs...
However...
Hear me out...
This is why I LOVE RISE testing!
Our Patriots and their teachers, have worked their GUTS out this year, and I have a strong belief that RISE testing is one of our Patriot's first opportunities to take what they have learned, and apply with a little bit of fire under their feet, which as horrible as it might sounds, is actually one of the most beautiful gifts we can give our kids. Why you ask? I would LOVE to tell you...
Here is the truth: from now on, whether they like it or not, almost everything that involves getting to do or obtain the big things and have those big moments in life, almost always involves taking and passing some sort of test.
Learners permit... Test
Drivers License...Test
AP classes...Test
Food Handles Permit...Test
First Aide and CPR...Test
ACT...Test
Sports/Dance/Performing Arts Tryouts...Tests
College Admissions...Tests
Graduate from high school...Pass LOTS of tests...
RISE testing is about teaching our kids to take pride in knowing where THEY are academically and where they need to get to so they can get to where they want to go. It is about honoring all of the hard work that both the students and the teachers have put in together for over 160 days as a class family to attack these tests and have the confidence and skills to take what they learned to both show what they know and, in 22 days be ready to move to the next grade prepared with all of the tools they need to be successful and continue to grow and progress in their academic careers.
I LOVE RISE testing, because I am ready to take the reigns off and let these brilliant humans run.
Mark my words, these kids are gonna rock it this year!
Patriots, get yourself and your phone to bed as early as possible during testing time.
Eat breakfast, bring your water bottles, and if you would like, put some snacks in your locker.
Lets Do THIS!!!
As Always Patriots

Buenas noches Patriotas Asombrosos,
Me encantaría decírtelo...
Test
Permiso de conducir...Test
Clases AP...Test
Permiso de manipulación de alimentos...Test
Primeros Auxilios y RCP...Test
ACT...Test
¡¡¡Hagamos ESTO!!!
Como siempre Patriotas
Recuerda...

Flat Stanley Made His Way To PHES
Flat Stanley's adventures continue as he made his way up to Providence Hall Elementary School! Flat Stanley has loved his time at the Junior High and the High School, but has been very persistence about having an opportunity to ride the super cool zip line at the elementary school, and Nurse Hadar and some of our PHES were happy to take him on a zip line adventure. Flat Stanley went for a ride, and as happens on many adventures, he tripped and skinned his knee. Lucky for him, Nurse Hadar was on the case and got him all fixed up, and because PHES is awesome, Mr. Fry and the crew, gave him a PHES wristband and made him an honorary PHES Patriot for the day. He has had so much fun being a part of the Providence Hall Family and can't wait to go back to Texas and tell everyone about how amazing we are!
