Current Events
Dear Families,
Show Up, Kids! Last Friday Grades 2-4 went to Town Hall Theater for a performance of Show Up, Kids! For some students, it was a first time in the theater. Mayu, Elana and Asa got their moments on stage!
Concert: The Weybridge chorus and band joined Salisbury and Shoreham for a combined concert at MUHS this past Tuesday. They did an excellent job. Thanks go to Sarah Metcalf for the choice of a varied and interesting repertoire, her work with the students, and pulling this concert all together. This coming Wednesday the WES chorus and band will be performing in the Common Room at 2:00. You are all welcome!
Some faculty changes for next year: As we begin to look ahead to next year, there are some changes in faculty positions that have been settled. Sarah Flinn, after many years of teaching art at WES, will not be returning next year. She is continuing in ACSD but her school assignment has changed. Eileen Gombosi, who has been the art teacher at Salisbury, will join the WES staff next year. Meeka-Kai Sands, our current Spanish teacher, will be adding Mary Hogan to her teaching schedule, so Rodrigo Placencia will become our Spanish teacher. Kaitlyn Cunningham will also be joining us as she is teaching chorus in all the small schools next year while Sarah Metcalf takes on all instrumental/band instruction across the small schools.
And lastly, Dani Girard’s time at WES has been increased to .3FTE so she will have an additional half day here each week.
Lunch help: We need volunteers next week for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please sign up directly on the May/June lunch calendar or email me if you are available one of these days or for any days in the future. We’ll need extra lunch volunteers for the Branbury Picnic (June 5/rain date June 8). Any grill masters among you? Thanks so much.
Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or call if you have any questions (802-545-3301).
Best, Christina
