GVMS CounselingTeam NewsletterJanuary 2025

Hello Gainesville Hawks' Families! Hello Gainesville Hawks' Families!

zoom_out_map

Welcome back! We hope that you all enjoyed the snow days and a few more days to sleep in before coming back to school. It can be a tough transition back into the school routine. As we work on closing out our first full week back, we are all struggling a little (staff too). Keep working to get a good night's rest and eat well so your body/mind are fueled for learning. Friendly reminder, the end of the second quarter is Friday, January 17th and the start of the third quarter is Thursday, January 23rd.

We are looking for a few parents to be willing to donate snacks to the department for students. Students come down a little hungry and a snack is just what they need to return to the learning environment. If you are willing to donate, you can drop the snack off in the front office or contact Mrs. Castles to coordinate.

8th Grade Student & Parents: The high school specialty programs application will close February 1st, 2025. Only a couple of weeks left to apply for programs. The first link in our resource section will take you directly to the PWCS High School Specialty website. Here you will find information about each program, including their specific information nights. A newsletter was sent out to all of our 8th grade students and parents but is linked below. Be sure to check the county's website for the most up-to-date information.

Our school counseling department is here to support your success! Have a problem with a friend? We can help with that! Having a hard time with organizing your school work? We can help with that! Please reach out so that we can assist you. If we are unavailable, students can send us an email request or come to the counseling suite lobby to fill out the request form on the Ipad. We strive to see students that have completed a request within the same school day or following school day. As always, if you have any concerns, please reach out to share. We are happy to help!
