Nitzya Mendez Medrano, ECSE Teacher
Mrs. Mendez is an amazing SPED teacher who genuinely cares about her students’ well-being and success. She is incredible at working with her students and is always on top of her responsibilities. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, answers questions with kindness, and greets everyone with a warm “good morning.” She did a fabulous job taking and uploading the Santa pictures that turned out beautifully, and we are so grateful she took the time to do that for our students. She also contributes her time and leadership through the Guiding Coalition and Enrichment Committee. She is a great listener and truly a valuable asset to our campus.
Student of the Month
Jonah is a stupendous student who is always focused, listens well, works hard, and is a great friend to everyone. He also loves to acknowledge others' great work by complimenting them on a job well done. Jonah takes care of his classroom and his friends. He is always lending a helping hand and always chooses to do the right thing!
Employee of the Month
Melanie Montalvo, Receptionist
Ms. Melanie is always willing to help, especially when last-minute ID tags are needed. She worked hard to ensure all the Christmas party lists were prepared for parent check-in, which was a big task. She is consistently ready to assist both parents and staff members whenever support is needed. We are grateful to have her running our front office.

Jana Reyes, Pre Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Reyes is an outstanding teacher who consistently goes above and beyond to support her students and colleagues. She did an amazing job organizing the school board event and has continually stepped up to assist not only her own pod, but teachers across the campus. Mrs. Reyes is always willing to share creative ideas and effective lessons, including innovative activities that make learning engaging while supporting students’ fine motor development. Her kindness, generosity, and deep care for students truly make a lasting impact on our school community

Analise Alvarez, Mrs. Rodriguez's Class
Analise is a bright student and a true joy to have in class. She consistently shows kindness, empathy, and compassion toward everyone she encounters. She is always eager to help in the classroom and exemplifies the Blue Jay standards each day. Analise is a dedicated and attentive learner who takes pride in her work, carefully completing each task to the best of her ability. Her strong work ethic and positive attitude make her an excellent role model for her peers.

Luz Gonzalez, ECSE Paraprofessional
Ms. Luz is a dedicated and hardworking early childhood paraprofessional who consistently sets high expectations and maintains appropriate rigor for all students. She is punctual, reliable, and approaches her work with a positive, caring disposition. Luz is always willing to help, and her commitment to supporting and guiding young children plays an important role in their growth and success.
BLECC uses Inter-State Studios for our student pictures. They do not use AI or biometrics and have a strict zero-sharing policy regarding privacy.

Our students have done a great job remembering to wear their IDs daily. Thank you, parents, for ensuring your child has their ID daily.
If you need to replace an ID, you can always send cash; however, we now also offer an online payment option for your convenience.
When your child is out, email our Attendance Clerk, Mrs. Alma, at alma.carrizales@cvisd.org
Anytime your student is out for a doctor's appointment or therapy, a note from the doctor or therapist is required. Otherwise, a parent note is needed the day the student returns.
Make sure the note includes your child´s name, teacher´s name, date of absence and reason for absence. A student will not be counted absent if he or she leaves school or is late to school and a note from a doctor or therapist is provided for that day.
