Week of October 12th
Jackson School is proud to be recognized as a Leader In Me Lighthouse School!
Happy Sunday Jackson Family!
Happy Sunday Jackson Family,
I hope you all had a great fall break! We can't wait to see lots of smiling faces in the morning. This week, we are celebrating National School Lunch Week with some easy spirit/dress up days. See the newsletter for how students can participate. Remember, spirit days are not mandatory, just for fun. On Friday, be on the lookout for report cards coming home. You will receive an email and a paper copy. Thank you to everyone that has completed the Leader in Me MRA Parent Survey. We reached our goal. If you are still interested in participating, click the link in the newsletter. As a reminder, doors will open in the morning at 7am and tardies will begin at 7:30am. We hope to see you on Tuesday at 4pm for the next PTO meeting.
Please see the information below for additional upcoming dates and important reminders. Thank you for your continued support of Jackson School where we strive to be better everyday.
Car Rider Line Expectations
Drop Off and Pick Up
Thank you for sticking to the car rider line rules in the morning and in the afternoon. Going through the line provides a safer and faster arrival and dismissal. Please don't park and walk children to the crosswalk or through the parking lot and please don't park and walk children inside the building unless you need to help them drop something off. As a reminder, drop off begins at 7am and pick up begins at 2:25pm. Tardies will begin at 7:30am and we do not sign out after 2pm. Lastly, please be reminded that all transportation changes should be emailed to your child's teacher no later than 12:00pm. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Signing Out and Transportation Changes
Please be reminded that you will need a photo id to sign your students out if you would like to pick up early. Lastly, if you are making a transportation change, please make sure to send it in writing no later than 12pm and send changes to your child's teacher and Ms. Maria, maria.millington@kcsdschools.net or Ms. Miles, melissa.miles@kcsdschools.net.
Tech Fees - $10
During registration, parents sign the KCSD Technology Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Under the AUP, if you have paid the technology fee, the first accidental damage is covered and a new device will/has been issued to your child. If the fee has not been paid, a new device will not be issued to the student until this technology fee ($10.00) is paid.
If your student incurs any damage to their secondary device it is not covered by the technology fee and an invoice will be sent. Please note that any intentional damage is not covered under the insurance and an invoice will be sent with the appropriate charges for the damage incurred. Please contact our librarian, Mrs. Ribelin, at harlie.ribelin@kcsdschools.net if you have any questions!
Tech fees are required this year. You can send in $10 or you can pay the fees on My School Bucks. Click here for the link to MySchoolBucks or download the app.

Leader in Me Parent MRA Survey
It is time to complete the Leader in Me MRA survey. This survey is an opportunity for members of our school community to provide feedback on a number of meaningful factors. For our students' families and caregivers, this includes feedback on the growth of your student, available supports, and areas for improvement.

Jackson is a Leader in Me School
Jackson is a Leader in Me school where we build leadership and life skills, and create a positive school culture where every child can discover and develop their full potential. We believe every child is a leader in their own way. Leader in Me teaches students how to take responsibility, set goals, manage their time, work well with others, and celebrate each other’s differences. It helps kids grow not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. Students are introduced to the 7 Habits throughout the school year.
We encourage you to:
- Use the 7 Habits at home.
- Talk with your child about their goals.
- Celebrate their leadership growth.
- Attend Leader in Me events at school.
Together, we can build confident, responsible, and caring leaders—starting now!
