Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
The first week of testing is always a challenge but in typical fashion, our BHS students stepped up and stayed focused as they took the ELA II and the Algebra I state tests. We will continue the remainder of testing with the building running on a regular schedule, so ALL students are expected to attend school during our normal school hours and follow their regular schedule. Students taking the remaining assessments will be administered per the schedule noted in the “Upcoming Important Dates” section below.
As we continue to wrap up and celebrate our students for the 2025-2026 school year, make sure you check out some of our upcoming concerts! I find it enjoyable to watch our young people display their talents and can’t wait to see and hear what they have in store for us April 28th and May 6th.
As you are grabbing your Bigby Coffee on Monday, April 20th, make sure you show them the flyer that's included in this newsletter. This fundraiser will help support our BHS Track and Field Athletes as they compete at Nationals at the end of the season.
We hope you have a fantastic weekend, and we look forward to a regular schedule with our Bulldogs on Monday.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
Students are wrapping up their first week of state testing and overall, things have been running smoothly as they adjust to the schedule and expectations.
As we move forward, please continue to see me if you need a parking pass—just a reminder that parking passes are tied to your attendance, so it’s important to stay on track.
On a positive note, the weather has been pretty nice this week, which has been a great boost for everyone’s mood.
Have a great weekend.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students
Please Take Note of the Following:
- Attention: please check your student’s school fees and cafeteria fee balances. Students attending prom must have all fees paid. Also, all seniors must settle their outstanding balances, not only for prom, but also to receive their physical diplomas. Take care of these fees soon. Thank you.

The FAFSA Application is still Open!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
