Green Lake Family Newsletter

Welcome to the 25-26 school year!

We are so excited to have kids back in the building and we have been working hard as a staff to prepare for them! Teachers have been involved in trainings and classroom preparation all this week.

Reminder that we have the Back to School meet and greet from 3:30-4 p.m. on September 2! It's a quick check in and see the classroom event. More detailed info regarding class work will be given at Open House and conferences later on.

Please remember that this Wednesday as the first day of school is Not an early release day! Students will be dismissed at 3:25 p.m.. It is the only Wednesday that is not an early release this year.

Students will line up on the playground blacktop by classroom. Staff will be outside to help you find your line and there will be signs .

Our website has all of the back to schools forms and information regarding supplies

We are excited to share that our students will receive one free reimbursable breakfast and one free reimbursable lunch each school day, regardless of their individual eligibility.

What does “free reimbursable meal” mean?

Students get one free breakfast and lunch that meet program rules. To qualify, they must pick at least three of five items: grain, protein, fruit, vegetable, and milk. Additional items like extra milk, snacks, or second entrees are not included and will be charged at à la carte prices.

Why complete a meal application if meals are free?

Although meals are free for all students, submitting a free and reduced-price meal application helps our school maintain funding for critical programs. We encourage families to complete one online. If you need a paper copy, please contact your school’s main office.

Questions? Contact Culinary Services.

I can't wait to see all of the students and to welcome all of you back to school this year! I can already tell it's gonna be a great one!

Warmly,

Liz McFarland (she/her)

Join us for Tears and Cheers on the first day of Kindergarten!

Welcome to Kindergarten at Green Lake Elementary School!

We know the first day of Kindergarten, on Monday September 8th, is going to be filled with BIG feelings and the PTA would like to invite you to an event called: Tears and Cheers!

On Monday 9/8, please walk your student to the top of the playground stairs, get them in their class line and continue on into the cafeteria to join us for some coffee, donuts, and fruit.

When the 8:55 a.m. bell rings, you'll get to see your Kinders led by their teachers into the school. You'll get to wave and cheer (and maybe swipe away a few tears) as you send them off on their first day of school.

We will have some staff as well as PTA representatives on hand to help answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to seeing you!
