Message from Mr. Imbusch Message from Mr. Imbusch

Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:

Now that the second semester is underway, there are a number of reminders that I feel should be communicated at this time:

Report Cards were published today - please log on to Aspen to view your Quarter 2 and Semester grades. Students are reminded that you are able to access intervention/extra help during study hall and on Wednesdays from 1:34-2:00.

Semester 1 Credit Loss letters were also published today. Please review your student's attendance, both Daily and Class, to ensure accuracy. If there are any issues, or you have excusal notes that can be entered, please have your student see their assistant principal. A reminder that students are allowed up to six 'unexcused absences' per class per semester. Once they go over six, they will lose credit in that class.

Eligibility: Please remember that tardiness to school results in detentions. Detentions and other school discipline result in the accrual of conduct points - students may earn a 5 in conduct, making them ineligible for sports or activities if they are chronically tardy or have other school discipline concerns. Students are also ineligible for sports or extracurricular activities if they have more than 1 failing or incomplete grade, or if they are failing Physical Education.

Seniors/Students who are over 18. As a reminder, all seniors are able to sign out in the Main Lobby for their last block study. Only students who are 18 are able to sign out at other times during the day. A notification is sent to the student's caregiver(s) whenever a student leaves. All 18 year old students MUST sign out of the building whenever they leave. Failure to do so will result in 4 hours of detention and conduct points.

Please see our Student-Parent Handbook should you wish to get more information on any of these policies.

Sincerely,

Stephen Imbusch

Principal

Grade Mania began on Tuesday, January 20th! As a part of a fundraiser for the Walpole Food Pantry, the National Honors Society is holding a contest to see which grade can raise the most money. Students can donate during lunch using cash or Venmo. Parents can participate by donating for their child's grade either during basketball games or via the Venmo (@Whs-Donations). To donate, write “NHS Grade [#]” (inserting 9, 10, 11, or 12 for the #) in the description. At the end of Grade Mania, whichever grade raises the most money wins! Every student in that grade will receive a gift card to a local restaurant such as Muffin House Cafe or Playa Bowls. Donate today and help those suffering from food insecurity!
