Veteran's Day Program 2026
We are trying something new for the Veteran's Day Program which will take place on November 11, 2026 at 1 pm. If you would like to attend (our fourth graders will be performing and ONLY our third graders will be attending), please fill out the form below. Please also fill this out if you plan on taking your child home after the program, indicating who will be taking them home, and check out at doors 6/7 with your child's teacher (they will have the list). If you do not fill out the form it will take longer as we will have to send you to another line to check out with our secretary. PLEASE fill out the form if you are attending AND/OR if you are taking your child home after the program. Thank you for your help! Please fill out the form by November 10, 2026 so we can get all lists prepared for the teachers.
Third Grade Vision Screening
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Good vision plays an important role in your child’s learning and success at school. To support your student’s vision needs, Indiana law requires vision screenings at specific grade levels.
Kindergarten or 1st Grade: A Modified Clinical Technique (MCT) examination is required and is performed by a licensed ophthalmologist or optometrist.
3rd, 5th, and 8th Grade: Vision screenings are performed by the school nurse.
Our school will conduct vision screenings for 3rd Grade on Friday, November 13th. The screening is quick and simple, taking just a few minutes.
If your child passes, no report will be sent home.
If the screening suggests that your child may need further vision care, the results will be shared with you.
* Reminder: If your child wears glasses or contact lenses, please make sure they wear them on the day of the screening. *
If you prefer that your child not participate, please send a written note or contact the health office.
If you have any questions, please contact the Health Office or School Nurse using the contact information provided below.
Thank you for supporting your child’s health and education!
Sincerely,
Sherry Stanfield, BSN, RN

Pants
We have a lot of spills and accidents at school. If your child comes home with a pair of pants from school, please wash and return them. Also, if you have any you would like to donate - we would love to have them! We need all sizes and specifically leggings/sweatpants/joggers - no jeans, please. Thank you so much!

4th Grade Service Project
Attendance October 23 - 30
We recognized all perfect attendance AND those with 2.5 days or less (on track for our attendance goal) for quarter 1. Congratulations! Many even received extra prizes through drawings!!
4th grade lead the way with 1st and 3rd close seconds!
Thank you!
Thank you to the NAFCS Education Foundation for awarding Grant Line funds for our Look Out For the Left Out assembly on November 23. We will not only hear the Woods family speak on the 23rd, they will visit every classroom on the 23rd to hear their message about kindness AND we will have the slime assembly on the 24th courtesy of our PTO. SO exciting!
NAFCS Calendar
REMINDER! We only have ONE week at Fall and Spring breaks this year, two at Christmas. PLEASE check out the calendar so that you plan vacations and appointments accordingly.
Take time to review the following attendance document (listed in our handbook) - this was put in place by the state last year. Attendance matters! We would like for every staff and student to miss at or less than ten days this year - that is a goal of 94%. When your child is here - they learn!
2027 - 2028 School Calendar
The 27-28 school calendar was passed by the board on 10/19/26. PLEASE take a look as there a few built in snow days now (required by the state for next year) and we are staying with the one week breaks. Please plan accordingly with vacations and appointments per the state attendance policy. Thank you!
School Family Commitment
I will notice and celebrate when people are helpful.
