Dear West Point Families,

Happy last week of school! It is always hard to believe that the end of the school year is actually here. I would like to thank our wonderful West Point community for the past three wonderful years here at West Point Elementary. I love your children, and I love our staff. West Point is a magical place to be! Thank you for all your support.

There is something fun and exciting happening everyday this week for our students. Please be sure to check the calendar below for daily events.

Also, we have been displaying our Lost and Found items in the front foyer. All items remaining by the end of the second week of June will be donated to a local charity. We hope you will take the opportunity to look through the items.

Here are three important things to know for the coming week.

  1. This Thursday, May 22 is the last day of school. It will be an EARLY OUT DAY.
  2. Field Day is this Tuesday, May 20. All students must turn in a signed permission slip to be able to participate in Field Day. Please make sure you have signed and returned the permission slip for your student. You will also want to make sure students wear tennis shoes, sunscreen, etc. that day.
  3. Library books were due last Thursday. Be sure to send any remaining library books back to school ASAP. Thank you!

Summer office hours will be Mondays from 9:00-1:00 starting June 2. For next week only, the office will be open Tuesday, May 27 (the day after Memorial Day) from 9:00-1:00.

Every day is a great day to be a Wildcat!

Sincerely,

Marjorie Conrad and Christie Bouy
Principal and Administrative Intern, West Point Elementary

Hello West Point Wildcats,

I wanted to take just a second of your time to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Greg Mudrow and I am honored to serve as the new principal of West Point Elementary. With 20 years of experience in education, the majority of which I’ve spent at West Point Jr. High, I am deeply committed to the success and well-being of our students. I am excited to join the incredible team at West Point Elementary and look forward to working with our students, families, and staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment. It’s a privilege to be part of this community, and I am eager to serve and support our student body as we grow and learn together.

Sincerely,

Mr. Mudrow

Yearbooks

Our yearbook signing will be this Wednesday. We have made some changes to our yearbook signing guidelines. Please be sure to review these changes with your students.

  • Students can only use paper to collect signatures (signature pages, booklets, or yearbooks). Students may not have students sign their shirts, other clothing, or skin.
  • Students may only write their names. They may not draw pictures.
  • Students can be fined the cost of a yearbook if they damage any yearbook by drawing inappropriate pictures or writing inappropriate messages. Please make sure your students are aware of these expectations.

Magical Manners

Our last magical manner of the year is "Be Kind." In the words of Clare Pooley, "In a world where you can be anything, be kind." It is my hope that above all else, our students are learning to be kind to each other. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
