PTA Update from the Eagle's Nest

Hi Bingham Families,

The PTA is proud to support our school for the 2025-26 school year. With your contributions, the PTA strives to use funds to enhance the educational experience and support the overall well-being of our students and staff. We support various school programs throughout the year such as the Art Show, Field Day, Heritage Night, Science Olympiad, as well as numerous other school activities. The PTA has already granted our support to the upcoming 5th Grade Camp.

The budget is highly supported by Membership Dues, Ice Cream and Bagel Sales, Classroom Funds, and events such as the Bingham Boo and Parents Night Out. Your participation allows us to sponsor so many memorable and necessary components of Bingham Farms programs. There is still time to register for all of your Bingham Farms goodies, update your family information in the Membership Toolkit Directory, and make your donation to this year's PTA!.

The 2025-2026 Budget is available for a 30-day comment period (September 16-October 16, 2025). If you have any suggested edits or comments related to the budget, please send them to the Bingham Farms Treasurers at bingham.expense@gmail.com.

Bingham Boo Update

Help us make the Bingham Boo a success by donating an item to the Trick or Treat Trail or by volunteering your time.

Trick or Treat Trail: This is one of our kids' favorite parts of the Bingham Boo. We welcome homemade items or store-bought treats. Kids enjoy getting to select from cookies, Rice Krispies treats, cheese puff ball tubs, Pringles, chocolate-covered pretzels, cake pops, popcorn balls, and more.

Volunteer Opportunities: It takes a village to bring all this Boo magic to life! The success of Bingham Boo depends on the support of volunteers – and we’d love for you to be a part of it!

Bingham Boo Adult Volunteers 2025: We welcome all adults- parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and caregivers- who are willing to lend a hand, sign up to help during the day or a shift during the event. We have lots of options to choose from. Find the spot that interests you and join us in making this a memorable night!

Bingham Boo Student Volunteers 2025: Do you have a middle or high school student? We also need a lot of student volunteers to help run carnival games and other fun options during the night. Bonus volunteering at our event counts towards their service hours.

Volunteer Opportunities

Each newsletter, we will update volunteer opportunities for ways to get involved in the school and see your kiddos. No experience needed, just warm smiles and a willingness to help out.

New: Library Assistance shifts added! Help check-out and reshelve books Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 8:45-9:45am.

Volunteer iChat Form - MUST DO!

We love school volunteers throughout the year. If you plan on helping out at school or visiting a classroom as a guest reader, a new iChat form must be completed annually and will be kept on file for the 2025/2026 school year. Once you complete the form, you can email it to LPfershy@birmingham.k12.mi.us or drop it off in the school office.

All Bingham Farms families are invited to join us for our monthly PTA meetings. We meet in the Media Center to share updates on school programs, vote on how to support our classrooms, and hear the Principal's report. Meeting Highlights:

Detroit Lions Spirit Day - October 9

Join us for a school-wide spirit day celebrating our Detroit Lions! Dress in your favorite Lions gear or bright blue! Bingham Eagles get ready to chant - GOOOOO LIONS!!!!

Bingham Boo - October 17, 6-9pm

Join us for our school's biggest family event of the year! With activities geared toward elementary students, kids can enjoy games throughout the school, entertainment, pizza, and prizes. There will be the annual teacher raffle for our students and a 50/50 raffle for adults.

STEM at Home Activities

PTA Membership

We invite all our families to be members of the PTA. Your membership gets you access to our Bingham Farms school directory, funds classroom grants, helps us to provide gifts for staff appreciation, host school events, and provides students with various fun, innovative, and educational items. It also helps us maintain our local and national PTA affiliation.

Classroom Funds

Class funds support our four class parties (Halloween, Winter, Valentines, and End-of-Year), treats, games, and crafts. By supporting the Classroom Fund, we will minimize our ask for donations to parties throughout the year.

Stay in touch with friends and share your back-to-school highlights on your grade's Facebook pages. These are meant to be social spaces that spread positivity throughout our classes.

Help our school while you shop. Under your Kroger Plus Card Account > Rewards > Community Rewards, you can select an organization that a portion of your sale goes to support! Choose AC809 for Bingham Farms Elementary and our PTA gets a check with no extra steps after you sign-up.

Box Tops for Education

A great way to support the school is through Box Top$ for Education. Long gone are the days of clipping the barcodes of cereal boxes or soup labels. Download the app, select Bingham Farms Elementary, and each time you shop at the grocery scan your receipt. It will auto calculate the donation and send it to our school! It is easy, and you don't need to know which food or supplies qualify for credit - the app checks for you. Now download that app while you wait for the bus, or in the pick-up gathering zone.
