PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Happy Friday Cougar Families!

We have made it through our first full week of the school year. The energy that our students and staff bring to campus everyday continues to be positive and there is a lot of excitement for the successes, challenges, and experience that the 2026-27 school year has in store for us.

It was great seeing and getting to meet many of you at Curriculum Night last night. We had a great turnout and I want to express my gratitude to our community for choosing Steele Canyon and partnering with us in the education of your children. We work hard to build community at our school and it is important to know that you feel safe and welcome on our campus at all times.

Attendance Procedure

Our attendance office operates as email only in order for families to communicate absences and off-campus pass requests. Please click this LINK for more information and we appreciate your support.

The easiest way to clear an absence is to use the ParentSquare App. ParentSquare is the main method of communication used by Steele Canyon and using the App gives you quick access to the school. (Google Play App Store (Apple))

Reminder: No Food Deliveries During School Hours

Please remind all students that food delivery services such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc. are NOT allowed during school hours. Parents/guardians may personally drop off food at the front office and then text their student to pick it up. However, parents/guardians may not order food delivery for students during school hours. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and minimize disruptions!

COUGARS!! If you’re a club president or representative, the club charter meeting will be NEXT TUESDAY August 18th. The club president MUST attend this meeting or else the club won’t be chartered. Clubs can still meet before they’re charted, they just can’t fundraise.

Parking Lot Auction

The annual Student Parking Lot Auction will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Theater. This exciting event is your student’s chance to secure a reserved parking space for the school year. All proceeds benefit the Senior Class of 2027.

Auction Rules & Details:

Only spaces marked on the map (available at the auction) will be included.
Each space is reserved for one individual car only.
Students can bid on "regular spaces" (36" x 72" paint area) and "lux spaces" (72” x 72” paint area).
Spaces will go to the highest bidder. Minimum bid: $60.00 for "regular spaces" and $80 for "lux spaces".
Payments must be made in-full the night of the auction (cash, check, or credit accepted).
The auction will continue until all students present have had a chance to purchase a space.

March the Halls is a schoolwide event that will take place on August 21st, 2026. We encourage all students to dress up in Cougar Colors to show their spirit. Towards the end of 3rd block, Cheer, Band, Football, and ASB will walk around school, inviting students to join the spirit line once they hear the band from their classrooms. The line will lead to the quad where we will have a Spirit Rally. We hope to see everyone there!

Drive Safe - the Cougar Way

Friendly reminder to please drive cautiously when entering and exiting campus. Our Campus Supervisors are here to help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently, and we appreciate your cooperation in following all directions from security personnel. When approaching the school from east Campo Road, please do not drive on the shoulder and allow vehicles to merge into the right-turn lane just before the school entrance. When waiting in traffic lines, please “close the gap” so we can accommodate as many vehicles as possible entering and exiting campus. Please also note that vehicle access at the back of the school is not available during the school day. Thank you for your patience and partnership in keeping our campus safe.
