Weekly Family Communication
The mission of Holy Rosary School is to help each child discover and fully develop their God-given talents. As a Catholic School community, we strive for excellence in our students’ spiritual, academic, physical, mental, aesthetic, and social-emotional growth. It is our intention that those who attend this institution mature into active citizens leading a committed faith life and reaching out to help others locally, nationally, and internationally with their wisdom, time, talent, and financial resources.
Principal's Message
Dear Holy Rosary Families,
Catholic Schools Week is upon us! This fun-filled week celebrates the great gift that is Catholic education. During this special time we unite with other Catholic schools throughout the United States to give thanks to God for our faith, for our communities, and for our schools. Next week will be filled with great fun and excitement!
I strongly encourage all families to join us at one of the Masses this weekend and for your students to come in uniform. We will honor our Champions of Holy Rosary School, Jordan Pomeroy and Renee Kurdzos, at the 10:30 Mass and will host a special open house after the 10:30 Mass on Sunday. All families are invited!
We kick it all off tomorrow with a schoolwide service project, primrose planting! Students may come to school in free dress Friday prepared to plant in the afternoon. We are grateful for any small shovels you can send to school Friday. Friday night we roll into Gator Bowl, a lively fundraiser for the Father Mallahan Endowment Fund. This community event is sure to be a festive time, hope to see you there.
Have a wonderful rest of your week!
In Christ,
Anna

Faith At Home
January 25th – Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul
Saul was on the way to Damascus with some companions to arrest more Christians when Jesus appeared to him as a white light. It flashed from the sky and knocked him down. Jesus identified himself and told Saul to stop persecuting Christians. He blinded him and sent him on his way. Meanwhile, the Lord appeared in a vision to Ananias, a disciple living in Damascus. He told him to find Saul and to heal him. So, despite his own doubts, Ananias went and healed Saul who had been blind for 3 days. Saul was immediately baptized and proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues. After his missionary journey to Cyprus, Saul began using his Roman name exclusively and was called Paul.
Ways to celebrate the honor the conversion of St. Paul in your home:
*Talk about how much we change if we are open to God’s grace and the way he wants to use us even despite our flaws and imperfections.
*Discuss how Ananias, and other Christians, were called upon to trust God and forgive Paul for what he had done to them.
*Share how our life experiences make us fit to do as St. Paul did and turn towards Jesus.
Notes & Reminders

Sponsors
Last call for auction sponsors. If interested contact Beth a for a sponsor packet or check out the options here. Prices range from $100 - $5000 and is a great way to market your business.
Dessert Auction
Our Annual Auction is around the corner on March 8, 2025 and we hope to see you there! An important part of the auction night is a Dessert Dash and we are looking for several volunteers to donate a dessert. The dessert should feed about 8-10 people and be a nicer dessert from a bakery like Bakery Nouveau, Ala Mode Pie, Trophy Cupcakes, or even Metropolitan Market. And if you are wondering, you will receive 2 hours for your donation. We also LOVE all the creative bakers in our school community and appreciate homemade desserts as well! So, please sign up and help Holy Rosary School have our BIGGEST DESSERT DASH EVER!! Questions = Misty Cervantes-Kim at mckim410@gmail.com

Volunteer Opportunities
Vision/Hearing Screening Volunteers Needed
It’s that time of year again! Vision & Hearing screenings will be taking place on Thursday, February 6th & Thursday, February 20th. We are looking for parent volunteers to assist with this required screening. No previous experience needed. Training occurs upon arrival.
2/6 & 2/20 from 8:30-2:30pm
Day will be broken into shifts of 3 hours each( 8:30-11:30 & 11:30-2:30). Please let me know which day works for you and which shift. If you are able to do more than one shift and/or more than one day, it makes things go much easier for everyone!
Please reach out to Claire Bederaux-Cayne if you are interested in participating.
Rewarding Volunteer Opportunity
We are in need of some additional volunteers for the funeral reception ministry. This is a rewarding and vital ministry in which volunteers help set up, serve and clean up for the receptions following the funerals. We try to keep a fairly large list of volunteers so that no one is called on too often. Time commitment varies depending on need and number of volunteers, or your availability. THESE COUNT TOWARD GENERAL VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR THE SCHOOL. Contact Marianne Wintermute at mwintermute@holyrosaryws.org
Book Fair
The book fair is staffed by parent volunteers. All volunteers need to be approved through the office and have their paperwork complete. Cashier or retail experience is helpful. The book fair will need volunteers throughout the week and after school on Monday and Tuesday. Click here Sign Up Genius if you would like to volunteer at the fair.

Summer Camp
I've found the summer camp search process to be tedious and time-consuming, so I made an easy way for families to search through just about every summer camp in their area.
Campwing has fine-grained data on ~340 camps within 20 miles of Holy Rosary (about 35% of which have released their 2025 camp schedules).
It's free through January. Families signing up through the link below and subscribing in February will get a discount for all of 2025: $10/month instead of $15, or $30/year instead of $45:

Tween/Teen Yoga Classes
Join Dragonfly's after school Tween/Teen Yoga classes.
Tuesdays 4:15-5pm
In addition to yoga poses, this class includes learning skills on how to check in with our emotions, how to notice what we're feeling in our body, and how movement and breath can help positively affect our attitude and our outlook on the world around us. And ... great tunes don't hurt. Our session just began - but we'd love to invite more students in. We're happy to prorate the cost to match when you are able to join.
