North Little Rock School District

Spring Break is upon us!

All schools will be closed March 23-27, 2026, in observance of spring break. Classes will resume March 30, 2026.

Enjoy the break!

Middle School Nights are here!

Is your student heading into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade? Or are you simply curious about the incredible opportunities waiting in the North Little Rock School District? Come explore NLR Middle School and get a firsthand look at our programs, campus, and community!

April 7, 2026 is Rising 6th Grade Night!

April 8, 2026 is Rising 7th & 8th Grade Night!

We can't wait to see you there!

Prior to Thursday's Regular Board Meeting, the district held a reception to honor our outgoing board members -- Ms. Angela Person-West, Mrs. Natalie Wankum, and Mrs. Dorothy Williams -- for their dedicated years of service on the Board of Education.

In addition, we welcomed our newly-elected board members -- Ms. Crystal Barker, Mr. Kevin Newsome, and Mrs. Victoria Scott, and with our reappointed board members -- Mrs. Valerie McLean and Dr. Rochelle Redus -- were all sworn in to officially begin their respective terms.

To encourage student reading at all grade levels and global awareness, the district has launched the "Read to Feed" initiative in partnership with Heifer International. As students log their reading minutes, corporate sponsors donate money to Heifer International to help end global hunger.

The Platform: Students log minutes spent reading at home or at school via the Beanstack app.

The Reward: Top 3 students will receive trophies. The top student and school get to slime the superintendent!

The Goal: 200,000 collective minutes spent reading from Jan 21-April 3.

The current standings are as follows:

Ridge Road in first place, Glenview in second place, Indian Hills in third, NLR 6 Academy in fourth, Crestwood in fifth, Lakewood in sixth, Meadow Park in seventh, Boone Park in eighth, Amboy in ninth, NLRMS 6th Grade campus in tenth, COE in eleventh, NLRHS in twelfth, NLRMS 7/8 Campus in thirteenth, and Pike View in fourteenth place.

Please encourage your students to log their reading during Spring Break! Any individual student can win; they don't have to be from the winning school. There are only two weeks left until the challenge ends!

Have some items to recycle?

You're invited to attend the North Little Rock Shred and Recycle event on Saturday April 11 in the NLRHS student parking lot from 9:00-11:00AM.

This will be a public drive-through event to recycle unwanted bottles, cans, paper, and cardboard. Document shredding services will also be available through Rock Solid Shredding. Optional donations will be given to the unsheltered.
