Good Morning,

It was wonderful to see so many of our families join their students on the track and sidelines, for the annual Parent Council Turkey Trot. Everyone enjoyed the fresh air, a little exercise and the temperature was perfect both days. Lot's of fun by all who attended!

The week ahead:

This upcoming week will be a short one due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Wednesday's dismissal is at 10:45 for all students.

For students that take a van home:

If your child takes a van home, half day dismissals during a holiday week are challenging due to the traffic around town. If you are able to pick up your child, it will be greatly appreciated. Please be sure to call transportation to let them know your child does not need transportation home. WPS Transportation's phone number is: 781-335-1100 x28351. For those students that will take the van home, students will board the vans a few minutes earlier than usual. The time your child typically gets dropped off may differ from a regular school day. We ask that you please be patient.

Conferences:

Parent Conferences are on Tuesday and Wednesday 11/28, 11/29. If you need help booking an appointment you may call the school office.

Safety Reminders:

  • Anyone picking up your child that we have not met needs to be sure they have an ID with them. We will not release your child to anyone not on the pick up list and without and ID.
  • All children must be in a car seat. See the link for MA car seat law.

There will be no Sunday newsletter on 11/26.

Wishing our families a very Happy Thanksgiving and long weekend!

Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books

One of the most important gifts we can give our children is to help them learn to read and write so that they can succeed in school and beyond. Confident, active readers are able to use their reading skills to follow their passions and curiosity about the world. We all read for a purpose: to be entertained, to take a journey of the imagination, to connect with others, to figure out how to do something, and to learn about history, science, the arts, and everything else.

We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.

Help our students reach their goal!
