Benhurst Primary School: End of Year Newsletter
👏🏆Celebrating our achievements, our community, and the Class of 2026 🎓
Dear Parents, Carers, and the Benhurst Community,
As we reach the final days of this academic year, we look back with immense pride at everything our pupils have achieved. It has been a year filled with deep learning, enhancing enrichments, and special moments that have brought our school community closer together.
Through our strong parent engagements, we have watched our children thrive both inside and outside the classroom. We want to thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support throughout this journey.
☀️ A Spectacular Summer Fete!
A massive thank you goes to the wonderful Friends of Benhurst for organising an incredibly successful Summer Fete last Friday!
It was absolute joy to see our school community come together to enjoy:
Thrilling games and activities for all ages.
Spectacular hampers which saw some very lucky winners go home smiling.
An abundance of laughter, sunshine, and community spirit.
Your support and generosity directly benefit our pupils, and we are so grateful for our incredible PTAs hard work in making this event such a triumph.
🎉 Highlights of Our Final Week
We certainly didn't wind down for the end of term—this week has been packed with excitement, transition, and celebration!
🏫 Meet the Teacher (Tuesday)
On Tuesday, our pupils took an exciting step forward as they took part in transition day. Children spent time in their new classrooms with their new teachers, sparking plenty of excitement, curiosity, and big smiles for the upcoming academic year.
🔴 Red Team’s Epic Celebration
Huge congratulations to the Red Team, who celebrated their house victory in style! The team enjoyed an epic picnic on the school field, which culminated in a brilliantly fun (and very splashy!) water fight. It was the perfect way to beat the heat and celebrate their hard work.
🎓 Farewell to the Class of 2026
This week, we say a poignant farewell to our remarkable Year 6 pupils as they prepare to embark on their next chapter and transition to secondary school.
We have celebrated their primary school journey with several beautiful events this week:
Wednesday Leavers’ Assembly: Year 6 performed their farewell assembly for the rest of the school, sharing memories and laughter.
🎓Thursday Graduation Ceremony: We welcomed parents and carers to a truly special, emotionally charged graduation. There wasn't a dry eye in the room as we celebrated their fantastic individual achievements.
👏🎬Friday Leavers’ Assembly (Final Performance): Our year group took to the stage one last time on Friday morning to perform for their families, marking a beautiful end to their time at Benhurst.
"Memories have been made and will be cherished forever. You leave Benhurst with our love, our pride, and our best wishes. Good luck, Class of 2026—go out there and shine!"
Thank you all for a wonderful year. We wish all of our families a safe, restful, and happy summer break!

Year 2
What a whirlwind year it’s been in Year 2. Our Great Fire of London Day brought history to life as we set our handmade houses alight, and in DT the children enjoyed making delicious sandwiches.
We loved our trip to Kew Gardens, had an amazing World Book Day, and even dug for dinosaur eggs in Forest School. We ended our wonderful year in sunny Southend, visiting Sealife and exploring the beach together So many experiences, so much learning, and a truly fantastic year.
Year 3
Yaer 3 have worked incredibly hard throughout the year and should be extremely proud of all they have achieved. They have embraced new learning opportunities across every subject with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a positive attitude.

We have had a wonderful time in Year 4! Some highlights have been our trips to London for art galleries and seeing the wonderful progress the children have made with their swimming.
