Sullivan Boys’ Tennis
The Golden Arrows fell to Terre Haute North on September 23, dropping a hard-fought match 5–0 in Sullivan. Despite the setback, the team holds an impressive 16–3 season record.
All three singles matches pushed to three sets, showing the Arrows’ grit and determination. Senior Sam Couch’s narrow super-tiebreaker loss marked his first defeat of the season after a remarkable 20-match winning streak. His performance has already etched his name into the school record book with the most wins at #3 singles in a season and the highest career winning percentage in that position.
In junior varsity play, Terre Haute North edged Sullivan 2–1, with Tanner Boyll earning the lone JV win.
Coach praised the team for battling strong competition:
“North is one of the toughest teams we’ve faced this year, and matches like these help us prepare for the postseason. Our singles players competed very closely, and I’m proud of how they fought. Sam deserves a special shout out for his incredible run this season.”
The team now sets its sights on capturing its third straight Sectional Championship next week.
