Dear Hardy Families,
What a wonderful day it was today. With an additional classroom open, our rooms felt like an audible sigh, and class sizes are back where they ought to be. I visited classrooms throughout the day and saw students thriving in their new settings. Our kids are always more resilient than we think, and I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to our incredible community for supporting this change. It was a pleasure to work with you through the transition. Thank you for trusting us.
Friendly reminder that this Friday is a minimum day and there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 11. We will cancel Lunch with Your Loves this Friday due to the numerous events happening this week. We'll see you at the next one!
I am so proud of our community and those who have already sponsored our school. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and every dollar raised directly supports students, from classroom materials and field trips to art and enrichment. Please help us spread the word by sharing the fundraiser with family, friends, and coworkers, checking for employer matching gifts, and inviting local businesses to sponsor. Can you help us get to our goal? We have a few days left.
Our Jog-a-Thon run is this Wednesday, and we are so excited for a fun day. Please read the details and class run times below. Parking will be extremely limited; families may not be able to park on site, so please plan accordingly.

🏃 Jog-a-Thon is Finally HERE!
We’re almost there, the Jog-a-Thon happens this Wednesday, Oct 8!
For the past week, our students have been learning about leadership, teamwork, and kindness through Apex’s Level Up program, and now it’s time for the big event!
Join us on Wednesday to cheer on your child as they run laps with their classes. Let’s celebrate our Owls in action!
Run Schedule:
🕗 TK, Kindergarten & 1st Grade – 8:00 AM
🕘 2nd & 3rd Grade – 9:00 AM
🕙 4th & 5th Grade – 10:00 AM
♥️ Parking will be limited, so please consider walking, ridesharing, or parking at SDSU if possible, but don’t let that stop you from coming to cheer!
So far, Hardy families have raised more than $21,000, putting us well past the halfway mark toward our $35,000 goal! Every dollar supports arts & STEAM enrichment, supporting the school’s literacy goals, field trips, classroom grants, and community events that make Hardy soar.
Incentives to watch for:
Raise $250+ to be entered for a chance to be Principal for the Day!
If we hit our $35k goal and Principal Aragon (plus a few brave staff/teachers) will be SLIMED at an all-school assembly on Friday!
Every class celebrates with spirit days and special rewards because every Owl participates!

Choice Enrollment Window Opens TODAY through November 3
Will you help spread the word to prospective Hardy Owls—and any families interested in joining us—for the 2026–27 school year?
The 2026–27 Choice priority enrollment window opens Monday, Sept. 22, through Nov. 3, 2025. The Choice Program allows families to apply for schools beyond their neighborhood.

Families applying during the priority window have the best chance to secure one of their top three school choices. Multilingual support is also available through the Family Welcome and Enrollment Center at (619) 260-2410.
Current Hardy students on Choice, who will remain at Hardy, do not need to apply.
