I truly hope that each of you are finding some time to rest, relax and rejuvenate! I know there are some of you who opted to help at summer school and you are just waiting for a few days of rest! Thank you for taking care of our Cavs this summer!
I want to thank each of you who have dropped by, sent texts or emails to welcome me into the Cav Family! I am so excited to work with each of you! I am very big on working as a team, so I have made a decision on the theme for the 25-26 school year. Our theme will be Better Together! I want this to drive us all year as we work together. I believe that when our team, students and families work together, we accomplish more!
One more thing I want to mention is that the focus this year will be on reading. I will share more of this when we all come together. As you plan for the coming year, please think about ways to encourage students to read. As you get to know me, you will find out that I am always reading more than one book - a lot for work and a few for pleasure. My favorite authors are Jon Gordon and John Grisham. Currently, I am reading 3 completely different titles - The 7 Commitments of a Great Team, Influence and the Creator's Game, and Trust and Inspire (given to us at our Pre-Leadership Training).
At the Pre-Leadership Training, we did get an overview of the Back to School plan. Of course, I will work with some of you to help me make it Cav-tastic! Here is a quick overview:
Monday, August 4th: Campus PD
Tuesday, August 5th: Job-Alike Day
Wednesday, August 6th: Job-Alike Day
Thursday, August 7th: Teacher Workday
Friday, August 8th: 1/2 Day CKH Recharge (we will be at EHS in the am); Campus PD in the afternoon (I am thinking we will do Cav Camp this afternoon)
Monday, August 11th: Campus PD
Tuesday, August 12th: Teacher Workday
As you can see, the time we have together here on campus will be limited. I will do my best to build in time for us all to get to know each other and cover all the key information required to get the 25-26 school year kicked off!
