Greetings CEEP Families!
I hope that you enjoyed the crispy fall weather this weekend.
๐ ๐Spirit Day!
Wednesday is Unity Day! We are asking staff and students to wear orange to show their support. Unity Day is a signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month, advocating for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion by wearing the color orange to show support against bullying. The day aims to unite students, parents, educators, and communities to promote a safe environment and empower individuals to speak out against bullying and support one another.
๐ธ Picture Day โ This Friday!
Picture Day is this Friday, and our classroom staff will be working hard alongside the photographer to ensure your child gets a great photo! While we always do our best, please understand that capturing the perfect shot isnโt always easy. However, rest assured, weโll give it our best effort!
As a reminder, if you paid online, please make sure you inform your child's classroom teacher as well. In the past, the school and teachers were not notified which students paid for pictures online and some, unfortunately, did not have their pictures taken on that day.
We are also looking for volunteers!
CEEP is looking for parent and family volunteers to help our Little Colonials have a smooth, positive, and memorable Picture Day experience.
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the day. Whether you can help for a short period or stay for several hours, we appreciate your willingness to support our school community. Volunteers may be asked to assist with sitting with students, reading to students, helping students line up, entertaining students to get them to smile, etc.
Please complete the form link below to indicate your interest and availability. A member of our team will follow up with additional information and confirmation of your volunteer assignment.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership! We are looking forward to another great week ahead. I wish you well!

Family Safety Tip:
Children with special needs may need extra support with emergency routines. Create a โGo Bagโ with calming items (like headphones, a fidget, or favorite toy), a family contact sheet, and any medications your child may need. Keep it near the exit you plan to use during emergencies. This helps reduce stress and ensures your child has familiar supports ready if you need to leave quickly.
๐ Try this week: Work with your child to choose one comfort item for the familyโs โGo Bag.โ

Helping Your Child Develop Self-Regulation Skills
Teaching children how to manage their emotions is an essential part of preschool development. In the classroom, we use techniques like deep breathing, calming visuals, and quiet spaces to help students learn self-regulation. Parents can support this at home by creating a โcalm-down cornerโ or using simple breathing exercises to manage transitions.
Activities/Website:
At-Home Activity: Create a calming jar with glitter and water. Let your child shake the jar and watch the glitter settle as a way to calm down.

Volunteer Information
Would you like to volunteer at CEEP? Parents will need to apply via the Colonial School District website. It takes up to 10 days for it to be approved.
https://www.colonialschooldistrict.org/parents-students/volunteer/
Once it is approved, you will show up on our school's volunteer list. You should apply for all of the schools because the approval list lasts for 3 years. When your child(ren) moves up or to another school, you will show up on the โnew schoolsโ list because you have applied for all of the schools. If you do not, you will not show up on the new school list and will have to sign up again to become a volunteer.
๐ค Student Absences ๐ค
If your child is absent, please make sure you complete the attendance form on the day of the student's absence. You can find this link on the weekly family newsletter.
