A Proud Moment for York Suburban

When I think about one of the many things that makes York Suburban special, I think about people like the four teachers pictured with me. They are all York Suburban graduates. They once walked our halls as students, and today they have chosen to return to those same classrooms to serve the next generation of Trojans. That full-circle commitment says everything about the kind of community we are.

We want the experiences our students have to stay with them long after graduation: pride, belonging, and a desire to give back. We hope they make a difference in the world around them, and perhaps one day return to help shape our community. That is the legacy we are building together.

That's why August 24 was a milestone. After nearly a decade of thoughtful and intentional planning and community conversation, the York Suburban Board of School Directors approved the bids for our High School construction and renovation project. This investment creates learning spaces that reflect the needs of our students and staff today and in the future. A vision nearly ten years in the making is finally becoming a reality, and it will be well worth the wait.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we begin this exciting new chapter. I look forward to seeing you at Homecoming and throughout the year as we work together to inspire a BOLD future for our students.

September 11th Remembrance Ceremony September 11th Remembrance Ceremony

We Remember - 9-11
zoom_out_map

On Friday, September 11, the County of York will hold a 25th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony at York Suburban High School. We are proud to host this event honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the heroes who served and sacrificed in the aftermath of the tragedy.

The in-person ceremony is for students and invited guests only and will include special recognition of first responders, military service members, and veterans in attendance. Following the ceremony, students and guests will participate in a symbolic stair climb representing the 110 floors of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the nature of this event, families and community members will notice an increased presence of emergency responders, law enforcement, and members of the media on and around the high school campus that morning. We understand that seeing this type of activity can understandably cause concern, and we want to make sure our families and community know it is part of the planned remembrance ceremony, not the result of an emergency at the school.

The York Suburban Board of School Directors approved bids for the High School Construction and Renovation Project at its August 24 meeting, marking a significant milestone in a planning process underway for nearly a decade.

With the bid approval, the project is moving from planning to construction. Work is expected to begin this fall and will take place in phases over the coming years. Because construction will occur while the High School remains in use, the District anticipates temporary changes to parking, traffic patterns, building access, and the location or availability of certain spaces throughout the project. Specific details will be forthcoming throughout the project.

The District has developed a construction timeline to help families, staff, students, and community members understand the anticipated sequence of work. Architectural renderings are also available to show the planned improvements and the future High School.

View the construction timeline and architectural renderings on the District website.

We appreciate the patience and flexibility of students, staff, families, and community members as construction moves forward.

Dr. Krauser, Superintendent, will continue meeting with advisory groups this school year to improve communication and strengthen partnerships between the District and its stakeholders. The student advisory group will be formed with recommendations from high school administration, and we are currently accepting applications for our Parent and Community Advisory Group.

Because the advisory group will be limited in size, interested individuals should complete a brief application. The application deadline is Friday, September 25. Individuals who participated in the 2025–2026 advisory groups do not need to reapply. Your participation will continue for the 2026–2027 school year.

Home Football Game Reminders Home Football Game Reminders

We take great pride in our school spirit and encourage students to attend sporting events to support the players, cheerleaders, and marching band. This builds unity and gives younger students opportunities to envision themselves in these activities. Before heading to the game, please review the following Home Football Game Reminders, which help us provide a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our school community.
