Dear Naches Trail Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer was filled with rest, fun, and wonderful memories with family and friends. The entire team here at Naches Trail has been working hard to prepare our classrooms, grounds, and learning spaces, and we could not be more excited to welcome our students and families.

As we kick off this new chapter together, we want to reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe, joyful, and thriving environment for every student. Our school community will be grounded in four core social and academic behavior standards: H.I.K.E.

Our Core Standards: H.I.K.E.

  • H – Hard Working: We encourage our students to put forth their best effort every day, embrace challenges, and view mistakes as valuable opportunities to learn and grow.

  • I – Inspirational: We strive to lift each other up, model positive choices, and lead by example both in and out of the classroom.

  • K – Kind: We practice empathy, show respect, and cultivate a welcoming space where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

  • E – Engaged: We show up curious, active, and ready to participate fully in our academic community and extra-curricular life.

We're excited to announce that a new ParentVUE app is now available for download! This is a new version of the app you use to submit student absences, communicate with teachers, and check grades. The new app features an improved visual layout and includes a helpful built-in tutorial when you first log in, but all the content and features you rely on remain the same. We encourage you to download the new app this spring so you can explore its updated design and ensure a smooth transition before the current app is retired. Your login credentials will remain the same. The current ParentVUE app will stop working on August 1, 2026, so it's important to download the new version before then to avoid any interruptions.

Important Reminders from the Health Room

šŸ‘• For Our Kinder and TK Families!

Kinder is full of learning, exploring, and sometimes a few unexpected messes! 😊 We ask that all Kindergarten families please keep 1–2 complete changes of clothes in your student’s backpack.

Please remember to check your child’s backpack regularly and replace any clothes that have been used or have become ā€œickyā€ so they are ready to go when needed.

Thank you for helping us keep our little Trailblazers comfortable, clean, and ready for a great day at school! šŸ’ššŸ’™

🩲 New Underwear Donations Needed!

Our health room is looking for donations of new, unopened children’s underwear in sizes 4–8 to help keep our Trailblazers comfortable and prepared for those unexpected moments at school.

If you are able to donate, we would greatly appreciate your support! Donations may be dropped off at the school office.

Thank you for helping us take care of our Trailblazer students! šŸ’ššŸ’™

Medication At School RemindersšŸ’Š

    • Please don’t send ANY medications INCLUDING over the counter medications to school with your student.

    • ANY & ALL medications at school REQUIRE a doctor's order on file with the health room EVERY year.

    • All medications MUST be signed into the Health Room by an adult. Please do not put medications in student's backpacks.

    • Students with Life-Threatening Health Conditions MUST have orders/medications in the Health Room and a completed school healthcare plan.

Please reach out to the health room at 253-800-8793 with any questions.

Parent Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures Parent Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

We’d like to remind everyone of our drop-off and pick-up procedures to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and families.

For the safety and efficiency of our arrival and dismissal processes, all students must be dropped off and picked up using the designated parent pick-up and drop-off loop. Please do not use the front office for student drop-off or pick-up unless you have a pre-arranged appointment or special circumstance approved by the school administration.

We also want to remind families that Naches Trail Elementary is a ā€œno walk-upā€ campus. This means:

  • ONLY PRESCHOOL & STRUCTURED families are permitted to park and walk their students to their designated drop off zone. Our preschool & structured families are permitted to park at our former Naches Trail Elementary parking area and walk students to their designated drop off zone to the north of the building.
  • Students should not be dropped off in the parking lot or near the front office.

  • To ensure staff are able to be in class and ready for students on time, we would like to remind families that our parent drop off loop closes promptly at 9:30 am. Students and families arriving at or after 9:30 am, will need to drop their students off at the main office. Our tardy bell rings at 9:35 am.

  • All arrivals and dismissals should take place through the designated vehicle loop only.

We understand that it can be difficult, especially at the beginning of the school year, but these procedures are in place to prioritize student safety and maintain a smooth flow of traffic on campus. School staff will be on hand to welcome and assist students as they arrive.

🪪 Parent Pick-Up Placards (Car Hangers)

To ensure a safe and organized dismissal process:

  • All families who plan to pick up their child by car at the end of the day (3 or more days per week) must obtain a parent pick-up placard (car hanger) from the front office.

  • The placard must be clearly displayed in the front window of your vehicle each day.

  • Each car hanger number will be matched with a backpack tag on the student being released.

  • Students will only be released to vehicles with the correct, matching placard.

  • If you lose your placard, please contact the front office so we can get a replacement placard ordered for you.

If you have not yet received your car hanger, please stop by the front office as soon as possible.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to create a safe, calm, and structured arrival and dismissal process. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Pictured above is the Naches Trail Campus. We would like to take a moment to cover safety and procedures for student drop off. As you pull into the parking lot you should follow the green arrow path. Please note the red stop signs. We need families to stop behind these areas to ensure ample room for traffic and staff safety. Once the green arrow loop is full, we ask that parents then follow the yellow arrows to our alternate loop. Once in the lanes closest to the building, we ask that cars form two rows. Please make sure all cars are stopped BEFORE the drawn red lines. We need to keep all cross walks and fire lanes cleared at all times. The purple box indicates the preschool & structured students walk up drop off zone. The red smiley faces indicate staff standing positions.

Our parent drop off loop closes promptly at 9:30am. Staff will direct any incoming late students to drop off in front of the office. Look for the late students sign.
