Weymouth Early Childhood Center
2025-2026
December 7, 2025
Good Morning,
Keeping Our Schools Healthy and Safe
Maintaining a healthy school environment is a shared responsibility. Please help keep our school communities as healthy as possible by following these recommendations. If you have questions about symptoms or if symptoms persist, consult your healthcare provider.
Healthy habits that make a difference:
-
Stay home when you are ill.
-
Practice good hygiene, including regular handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and keeping frequently touched surfaces clean.
For additional WPS health guidelines and information, please visit the WPS Health Services website: https://www.weymouthschools.org/departments/health-services
Outdoor Play:
Outdoor play is an important part of every preschooler’s day. Fresh air, movement, and time to explore help children build strong bodies, develop motor skills, and learn through hands-on experiences. Even in cooler weather, outdoor time supports their well-being and helps them return to the classroom ready to learn.
As the temperatures drop, we ask for your support in helping children stay comfortable and safe during outdoor play. Please send your child to school with a warm hat and mittens each day. We prefer mittens rather than gloves, as many children can put on mittens independently, supporting both their comfort and growing self-help skills.
Thank you for helping us ensure that all children can enjoy outdoor play throughout the season!
Have a great Sunday!

The Winter Workshop is just around the corner!
Weymouth Early Childhood Center’s Parent Council is excited to announce the
annual Winter Workshop to be held on Wednesday, December 10th and Thursday, December 11th.
Parent Council is looking for volunteers to help with the Winter Workshop. If interested please, send an email to weccparentcouncil@gmail.com. Parents that would like to volunteer must have a CORI on file. Please call the school office to set up a CORI appointment at 781-335-0191.
What is the Winter Workshop?
This special event gives students the chance to “shop” during the school day for holiday gifts for the important people in their lives. It’s always a joy to see the thoughtful treasures they select!
All students will have the opportunity to choose four gifts for four loved ones of their choice—parents, grandparents, siblings, pets, aunts/uncles, cousins, or anyone special to them.
Please see the schedule below for your child’s shopping time. This will help you determine when you may like to volunteer. We appreciate your support in making this event magical for our students!
Backpack Connections
How to Help Your Child Label and Understand Emotions
About this Series
The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.
Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home.
