It is time to send your students to school with warm/water proof layers. We are experiencing some colder temperatures. Your students will need warm coats, gloves, boots and hats added to their outdoor gear.

Please double check your kiddos before they leave the home. We are still having students arrive at school without jackets.

***If you would like to take advantage of the donated jackets that we have here at the school, please send Joy an email and she will make sure that your child receives a jacket. Thank you!!

The annual McNeil Canyon Elementary Fall Carnival will be held on Friday, October 30th from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. This is a fun-filled evening for the whole family and community. The Fall Carnival is sponsored by Community Council and is 1 of 2 major fundraisers for the year. Plus, it's a lot of fun! Parents will be receiving a phone call from their class parent representative asking them to help at the Carnival. Your time commitment can be as short as one hour. Please consider helping with this great event. We couldn't do it with out you all!!

BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY AND AVOID THE LONG LINE!

***This event is so popular that the line for ticket sales can some times be out the door!

This year, we are offering early ticket sales exclusively to McNeil families. Bring cash, check or credit card to the school during parent-teacher conferences, buy early at the front office, and avoid the long ticket sales line.

We're looking forward to another great carnival this year! Hope to see you all there.

Got Stuffies???

Community Council is hoping to receive gently used or new stuffed animals to use as prizes for a few of the carnival booths. There is a dragon box outside of the front office ready to receive these donations. Thank you for helping make our Fall Carnival memorable!

Calendar Survey: 3 Questions Only! Complete Before Noon Today! Calendar Survey: 3 Questions Only! Complete Before Noon Today!

The purpose of this survey is to give KPBSD Stakeholders the opportunity to provide input on the 2028-29 Districtwide Calendar in order for the Calendar Committee to make a recommendation to the Board of Education.

  • Calendar A follows the format the district has been using for several years.

  • Calendar B addresses concerns about the timing of the first parent-teacher conferences, they were moved to earlier in October; as well as moving the 1st quarter end of term to balance the quarters.

Here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HHZ7D33

This survey is open until Friday, October 23 at noon.

Mrs. Colette's PE Corner: 🏀Dragon Basketball Skills & Healthy Futures Challenge Mrs. Colette's PE Corner: 🏀Dragon Basketball Skills & Healthy Futures Challenge

Dragon students have been working hard to build their basketball skills, including dribbling, shooting, and passing. Ask your child about BEEF (and no, I’m not talking about dinner 😊) and the two types of passes we’ve been practicing. Our intermediate students have been putting all these skills together in a fun game of Spot Shot. Check out the pictures below to see the action!

October Healthy Futures Challenge Reminder 💪

The first few October Healthy Futures Challenge logs have started trickling in. Let’s finish the month strong! Help your child remember to log their healthy activities. Once their log includes at least 15 days with 60 minutes of movement, they can turn it in to Mrs. Joy.

The deadline is Monday, November 2. Students who turn in their completed logs by this date will receive a small prize and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a BIG prize in our December drawing. 🎉

Keep moving, Dragons! 🐉💚
