Hello Evergreen Families,

This has been another terrific week at Evergreen. As you scroll towards the bottom you'll be able to see some of the exciting happenings at school this week in pictures.

Our Little Viking Fun Run is scheduled for Friday, October 13th. Further down in the newsletter you will find information about volunteering, cheering on the students, how students should prepare for the event, and food that will be served at the conclusion of each grade level's run.

Students will not have school on Monday as the staff will be participating in an in-service training day.

Fun Run Schedule: Friday 10-13-23

Volunteers:

If you would like to volunteer, please use this link or click on the button below. Volunteers need to have up-to-date clearances on file and come through the main office to use the raptor system with their ID's before going out to the field.

Parent/Guardian "Cheerleaders":

Please see below for the Fun Run schedule. Parents and guardians are invited to cheer on our Little Viking Fun Run participants!

Parents and guardians should check in at the visitor table on the sidewalk near the parking lot.
If a parent/guardian needs to enter the building for any reason (restroom, etc.), they will need to enter through the main entrance with their ID to utilize the Raptor system.

Schedule:

9:10-9:50--KAM
10:00-10:40--Gr 4
10:50-11:30--Gr 5
11:40-12:20--Gr 2
12:40-1:20--KPM & Gr 1
1:55-2:35--Gr 3

Students should wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. Please be sure to label your child's water bottles and sweatshirts/jackets with your child's name.

Home and School will provide the students with water and a piece of fresh fruit following the run. If your child is not able to have fruit (apples, oranges, bananas, etc.) due to food allergies/sensitivities, please make sure to contact your child's teacher by Wednesday, October 11th.

If we need to use the rain date of Thursday, October 12th we will send out information on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire Department Visits at Evergreen

The Perkiomen Township Fire Company will visit the Kindergarten and 1st grade students on October 11th as part of Fire Prevention Week.

Permission to Share Your Email with Your Homeroom Parent(s)

To make it more efficient for Home & School homeroom parents to communicate with the families in their classroom and for Home & School to share information about upcoming events, we are asking parents/guardians to provide permission for your email address to be shared with your child's Home & School homeroom parent(s).

Email addresses will NOT be shared with anyone but the homeroom parent(s) of your class and the Evergreen Home and School officers.

If you are willing to provide permission for your email address to be shared as described above, please complete THIS GOOGLE FORM as soon as possible. Please complete a separate form for each child.

We will have our first early dismissal on Wednesday, October 25th. Please see below for the adjusted times.

1st Grade to 5th Grade

AM Arrival: 8:30 (no change)
PM Dismissal: 12:15pm

AM Kindergarten:

Arrival: 8:30 (no change)
Dismissal: 10:20am

PM Kindergarten:

Arrival: 10:20am
Dismissal: 12:15pm

K+ Program:

Students will be dismissed from Evergreen at 12:15pm

School Visitor Information--ID Required

Safety is always our top priority. We have upgraded our visitor management system by installing a Raptor System in all Perkiomen Valley schools. Visitors will need to scan their ID (driver's license) prior to being granted admittance into Evergreen Elementary and any of our schools in the Perkiomen Valley School District. Visit our webpage for more information.

Dismissal Change

If you need to make an unexpected dismissal change during the day, please contact the main office via telephone (610-409-9751) by 2:30pm, if possible.

Please do not only email your child's teacher as teachers often are unable to check their emails until dismissal has concluded.

Power Packs are weekend bags of food for students experiencing food insecurity. There is no financial information required to participate in this program. PV Power Packs is a volunteer run organization and all information is kept confidential.

Transportation Request Form

Education Trip Form for Elementary & Middle School

An Educational Trip Request form must be submitted prior to student’s departure. Approval for such trips is limited to five (5) school days per year.
