A WELCOME MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL CARROLL
Dear Kahla Families,
It's hard to believe November is already here! October was filled with so many wonderful moments at Kahla, from celebrating Red Ribbon Week and recognizing student achievements to showing our Knight pride at our pep rally. It's been exciting to see our students and staff continue building a positive school culture where everyone feels connected, supported, and proud to be a Knight!
As we enter this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to thank our families for your continued partnership. Your support makes a tremendous difference in helping our students grow academically, socially, and personally. Let's continue working together to emphasize the importance of our Three A's: Attendance, Attitude, and Academics. Every day matters, and every opportunity to learn and grow counts!
I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful Thanksgiving break with family and friends. Thank you for being part of what makes Kahla such a special place!
Stand Strong, Be Bold, Conquer the Day!

THIS MONTH AT A GLANCE
WHAT'S HAPPENING AT KAHLA
Find Your Thing at Kahla!
At Kahla Middle School, we believe every student deserves a place where they feel connected, discover their talents, and find something that makes them excited to come to school. That’s why we are so proud to offer 16 clubs for our students with more being added every week!
Behind every club is an amazing student who had an idea, an interest, or a passion they wanted to share. These student leaders took the initiative to turn their ideas into something others could enjoy, and that deserves a round of applause! 👏 We also want to recognize our fabulous staff members who support these clubs, give their time, encourage our students, and help turn those ideas into reality. It takes a team to make great things happen, and we are grateful for the students and staff who make Kahla a place where opportunities grow.
Clubs are about so much more than meetings and activities. They are opportunities to make new friends, build confidence, develop leadership skills, explore new interests, and discover talents students may not even know they have. Whether a student loves art, competition, service, creativity, or simply wants to try something new, there is an opportunity to find their place.
Our challenge to every Knight: Find your thing! Explore the clubs available at Kahla, step outside your comfort zone, and get involved. You never know what new passion you might discover, what friendships you might build, or what amazing things you might accomplish.
At Kahla, we aren't just building scholars; we're helping students discover who they are and who they can become. And sometimes, all it takes is one club to get started!
If your student is interested in joining a club or starting one their own, stop by the counselors office for more details.
ACADEMICS & STUDENT SUCCESS
5 Ways to Support Your Knight at Home
Success is a team effort! Families play an important role in helping students grow academically, build confidence, and develop skills that will carry them beyond the classroom. You don’t need to have all the answers to make a difference. Sometimes, the little things we do at home have the biggest impact!
Here are five simple ways to support your Kahla Knight:
1. Ask About Their Day. Go beyond “How was school?” Ask what they learned, what challenged them, or what they’re looking forward to tomorrow. These conversations show your child that their education matters.
2. Stay in the Know. Take a few minutes to check grades, look for missing assignments, and review school updates. Staying connected helps you celebrate successes and identify areas where your child may need support.
3. Make Time for Learning. Whether it’s reading together, practicing a skill, or setting aside time for homework, a little dedicated time each day can help build confidence and strengthen learning.
4. Encourage Independence. Middle school is a great time for students to practice managing their time, keeping track of assignments, and speaking up when they need help. Your encouragement can help them become more confident and responsible learners.
5. Celebrate the Little Wins. A better grade, a completed assignment, asking for help, or simply not giving up are all worth celebrating! Recognizing effort and progress reminds students that growth matters.
Remember, you don’t have to do it all! Your interest, encouragement, and support help lay the foundation for success. When families and Kahla work together, our Knights have even more opportunities to thrive.
Together, we can help every student Stand Strong, Be Bold, and Conquer the Day!
UPCOMING EVENTS
"PARENT TOOLBOX"
Dress Code Reminder: A Quick Check Goes a Long Way!
A quick dress-code check before heading out the door can help prevent a disruption to your student’s school day! If a student arrives out of dress code, they will check in with the assistant principal’s office, and a parent or guardian will be contacted to bring the clothing item needed to get them back in dress code. Students will need to be in dress code before returning to class.
Since we do not have extra clothing available on campus, taking a moment to check before leaving home can save time and help your Knight get their day off to a smooth start.
Thank you for your partnership in helping our Knights stay prepared and ready to learn!
Celebrate Your Knight’s Birthday! 🎉
Make your student’s birthday extra special with a birthday shout-out at Kahla! Families can celebrate their Knight with a birthday message on our outdoor marquee, visible to the community, or on our indoor school display, where the birthday wishes are shared with our students. It’s a fun way to make your student feel celebrated on their special day!
Ready to give your Knight a birthday shout-out? Simply make your selection and purchase through SchoolCash Online. Let’s make their birthday a little more memorable at Kahla!
Go Knights! 💚💛
