What's Next for the Concert Uniform?

Students will wear their concert uniform one last time at the 5/8/2024 Spring Concert. After that concert, parents/students should do the following no later than 5/23/2024:

Students with Tuxedos:

  • All 3 pieces of this uniform should be professionally dry cleaned before returning the uniform.

    • Please note: Tuxedos that are not dry cleaned will be tracked and invoiced by the band for the expense of taking the items to the dry cleaners.
    • If your student is unsure what three items he/she/they have checked out to them, please email the Uniform Coordinator with a request for the item numbers. Students have been known to mix up items during UIL.

  • Leave all 3 pieces in the dry cleaning bag with the receipt and ensure the Student's Name is either on the receipt OR written on the receipt.

    • We will keep these 3 items together for the students returning next year. This will potentially help eliminate the need to pay for alterations to pants next year!

  • Return to the uniform to the band hall as soon as possible but no later than the last day of school.

Students with Concert Dresses:

  • You may wash the dresses at home.

    • Wash on cold and gentle, with a fragrance/dye free soap.
    • You may dry on low heat. Hang immediately after drying to minimize wrinkles.

  • Create a tag with the student's full name and put it on the hanger.
  • Return to the uniform to the band hall as soon as possible but no later than the last day of school.

For seniors, the uniform coordinator will prioritize the checkin of these uniforms so graduation requirements are met. The sooner the items are returned, the sooner the uniforms can be checked in.

If you have any questions, please email the uniform coordinator at uniforms@johnsonbands.com .

Student Service Hours

There is a drop off slot in the band hall. Or students can email a digital copy of their hours to banquet@johnsonbands.com. The JHS Band Boosters have created a form for band students to track their band volunteer service hours. (Click the previous sentence to link to the form.) This form is similar to what is used by other organizations such as the NHS and puts control of volunteer service hours tracking in the students hands. Students should print and use this to log for all band related volunteer service hours and ensure completion of all fields including supervisor signature. Parents signatures are not accepted. Follow all details on the form to turn in the logs in the spring to be considered for Band Student Service Awards at the Band Banquet or for logging volunteer service for Letterman Jacket points. Any questions, contact banquet@johnsonbands.com or secretary@johnsonbands.com. This form should be used for all hours since the Band Banquet last spring. Multiple forms may be submitted to track all of your volunteer service.
