I also have an update on staff hiring as well as a welcome video that I made for the students, please show it to them if you can.

Back to School Paperwork
We are looking forward to welcoming you and your families back to Haynes for the upcoming school year. If you are a new family to Haynes you do NOT need to complete a back to school packet, as we collected your information in your new student registration paperwork.
Please note back to school packets are available now for completion. Please take a couple of minutes to complete your packet, so we can provide teachers with dismissal information for your student's first day of school, share medical permissions with Nurse Jackman and ensure there will be no delay in the use of school technology at Haynes.
Arrival & Dismissal
Below is a link to the New Student Orientation slideshow that we used with families this past week. In that slideshow, you will find information regarding arrival and dismissal procedures. Bus information will be mailed home early next week.
Please be patient with the buses on the first couple of days of school as drivers and students get used to the new routes.
As a reminder, the car-line is a live drop-off and there is no parking on school grounds during arrival and dismissal. It may be helpful to practice your arrival and dismissal procedures before the first day of school. There will be a lot of school staff around the building helping to guide students to their rooms the first week. Also, it would be best to take pictures at home before heading to school.
Whenever you need to let the school know that your child will be absent, tardy, dismissed early, or have a change of dismissal plan, we are going to ask that you complete the Attendance/Tardy/Dismissal Google Form (also below). This lets the office know of an upcoming absence or change so no other phone call or email is needed. The form will help streamline the communication with the office and teachers. The QR Code for the form is below. As a reminder, if you are dismissing your child early, please build in travel time as the student will not be waiting in the office for dismissal. When you arrive at the school, we will call down to the classroom for your child to be dismissed.
Breakfast & Lunch
Food Services Director, Sheila Proia has the following message:
After much deliberation, the state legislature has approved funding for universal free school meals this school year and made universal free school meals permanent! This is a historical day for child nutrition and a reflection of the significance of school nutrition programs. Importantly, the cycle of uncertainty regarding universal free school meals is over as it is now codified into state law. This is a significant investment in student wellness and supported by all three branches of state government.
If you would like to enroll your child to receive a breakfast please click here (and below).
Please know if you sign up for the breakfast program, students typically receive a granola bar or muffin and these are distributed during their snack time, which for some students is in the morning and some students in the afternoon. We want you to know that students don't eat school breakfast program items before the start of the school day.
