Principal's Message Principal's Message

Dear Neubert Families,

This Tuesday, our students will participate in a Kids Heart Challenge kick-off assembly during their specials classes. We are excited to bring this opportunity to Neubert and to support such a meaningful cause. Be sure to read more below for additional details and ways your family can get involved! 💚

Congratulations to Ms. Karan Miller, our registrar secretary, on her retirement! Monday, February 2, will be her last day with us. Christine Lopriore will be filling that vacancy while we search for our next registrar secretary. We wish you all the best, Ms. Miller!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support at home and for partnering with us to help our students thrive - academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your Partner in Education,

Ms. Nicole Bryan, Principal
Neubert Elementary School

Arrival Drop-off Reminders Arrival Drop-off Reminders

1. Drop-off (when bus duty personnel are outside) does not begin until 7:45 AM. Please wait until someone is outside monitoring your students before dropping them off.

2. Unless specifically directed by bus duty personnel, a parent is not allowed to drive around another car in front of them after dropping off their student in the parent drop-off lane. This is a safety precaution as students can exit either side of a car.

Thank you for ensuring the safety of our Knights.

The Kids Heart Challenge The Kids Heart Challenge

Neubert is participating in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge! Families can support by joining online at http://www2.heart.org/goto/neubert, downloading the Kids Heart Challenge app, or scanning the QR code. Students can complete “Finn’s Mission” to learn about heart health and kindness while raising funds for the AHA. As fun incentives, any student who raises $50 or more or completes Finn’s Mission will get to silly string Ms. Bryan and the admin team! Classes can also compete for a mystery prize, and students who meet fundraising levels may earn chances to win sports tickets and other exciting rewards. Let’s work together to help save lives and have some fun along the way!

February: Black History Month February: Black History Month

February is Black History Month, a time for our school community to honor and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans. Throughout history, leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, and many others have shown courage, perseverance, and a commitment to justice that continue to inspire us today. This month, students will learn about these important figures and the impact they have had in shaping our nation, while also reflecting on the values of respect, kindness, and standing up for what is right.

Families play an important role in helping children understand and appreciate history, culture, and the values of respect and inclusion. Here are a few simple ways to engage in meaningful conversations and learning at home during Black History Month:

  • Read Together
Visit the library or use online resources to read books by and about African American leaders, inventors, artists, and everyday heroes.

  • Watch and Discuss
Enjoy age-appropriate videos or documentaries about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, or other historical figures, and talk about what your child learned.

  • Family Conversations
Ask your child what they are learning at school about Black History Month and discuss why courage, fairness, and standing up for others are important.

  • Explore Music and Art
Listen to music by African American musicians or look at artwork by African American artists, then talk about how culture and creativity tell important stories.

  • Create a “Hero” Spotlight
Have your child choose a historical figure to research and create a short poster, drawing, or slideshow to share with your family.

  • Acts of Kindness & Service
Talk about how leaders like Dr. King made a difference through service and kindness, and look for ways your family can help others in your community.

  • Visit Virtual Museums
Take a virtual tour of museums such as the National Museum of African American History and Culture and explore exhibits together.

These at-home activities help reinforce what students are learning in school and support meaningful conversations about history, leadership, and respect for all.

The 5Essentials Survey The 5Essentials Survey

Beginning February 9, our school will be administering the 5Essentials Survey to families, students, and staff. This important survey gathers feedback about five key areas that research shows are essential for school success: effective leadership, collaborative teachers, involved families, supportive environments, and ambitious instruction. The results help us measure our progress, guide our School Improvement Plan, and make informed decisions that strengthen teaching, learning, and student belonging at Neubert. Your voice truly matters and plays a direct role in our continuous improvement efforts. More details about how and when to participate will be shared in next week’s family newsletter.

The Royal Broom Competition The Royal Broom Competition

Congratulations to Mrs. Sarto's Class!

They are the winners of our Royal Broom Award for keeping the cleanest classroom the entire week of January 19th! Our night custodians crowned them champions, and their room sparkled the brightest. ✨The Royal Broom competition runs all year long, so who will sweep up the honor next week? 🧹

Lost and Found Lost and Found

Updated 02/02/26

We have coats, hats, snow pants and gloves waiting to find their way back home. A few gloves are even still searching for their long-lost matching pair! Please take a moment to review these Lost & Found pictures for any items that may belong to your student.

To help lost items make a quicker reunion in the future, we encourage families to write students’ names on their belongings. A name goes a long way in helping us return items faster. Thank you for helping keep our Lost & Found from growing! 😊
