FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Stallion Families,
It has been another fantastic week at Cherokee Trail!
As we look ahead, please mark your calendars for Student Count Day on Thursday, October 1st. Having your child in school on and around this date is critical, as state funding is directly tied to our official enrollment count. To celebrate high attendance, any class that achieves 95% attendance or higher on October 1st will earn a special prize! You can help us reach our goal by making every effort for your student to attend school on October 1st, continuing to prioritize consistent attendance every day, and contacting our attendance office promptly whenever an illness or emergency requires an absence.
Along those same lines, we have noticed an increase in students being checked out early from school. Please keep in mind that our teachers deliver meaningful, high-value instruction right up until the final bell. Every minute adds up quickly over time, and missing the end of the day can put a student at risk of falling behind or being marked on the chronically truant list. Thank you for your support in protecting every minute of learning!
On a fun note, our Fun Run was a huge hit! Even with a chilly morning start in all that foam, our Stallions brought incredible energy and we are well on our way to hitting our overall school goal. You still have until Tuesday, September 22nd to submit any remaining donations. Word on the street is that I’m lucky enough to be getting slimed by a few top-fundraising classrooms, and I truly can’t wait!
Finally, I hope you will join us for our very first Stallion Family Voices meeting (formerly SAC) this Wednesday, September 23rd, from 3:45 to 4:45 PM in the library. This is a wonderful way to collaborate, share your perspective, and stay closely connected with everything happening here at CTE.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership, support, and enthusiasm for our school community!
Warmly,
Jodee DeRose - Principal
FUN RUN
What an amazing fun run we had! Thank you to everyone who came out and cheered on the runners!
We are currently at $22,560 toward our school goal of $23,500. Has your student reached their fundraising goal yet? Let’s push to reach our goal!
Mrs. Camarillo's class ran the most laps per student and earned extra recess!
All donations are due by Tuesday September 22nd.
