DRILL TEAM PREP -KJ DANCE

2026-2027 KJ DANCE Save the Dates

Drill Team Dancers,

Drill Team Prep is designed for dancers ages 12 and older who are interested in preparing for, or currently participating on, a school drill team. This class focuses on strengthening dance technique, performance quality, flexibility, precision, and audition skills. Year after year, KJ Dance has helped countless dancers achieve their drill team goals, and we are excited to be part of your dancer's journey.

Through engaging music, positive instruction, and energetic training, dancers will grow in both their technical abilities and their confidence. Our hope is that every dancer who walks through our doors develops a love for dance, looks forward to class each week, and leaves feeling encouraged, challenged, and inspired.

Dancers will train in:

Drill Team & Pom technique

Kick technique, flexibility & endurance

Turns, leaps & audition-style skills

Pom motions, sharpness & precision

Quick choreography retention

Performance quality, projection & confidence

Audition etiquette and preparation

What should my dancer wear to class each week?

Drill Team Prep dancers should wear tan or black jazz shoes (with rubber soles), tennis shoes for kick combinations, comfortable dance activewear, and have their hair pulled back away from the face and neck. We look forward to seeing your dancer's confidence and technique grow throughout the season!

Will my dancer have a performance at the end of the year?

YES! All Drill Team Prep dancers will be a part of the KJ Concert at the end of the year! We look forward to watching them showcase their hard work, confidence, and technique as they shine on stage during this exciting performance opportunity.

What if my dancer wants to take another class each week?

Many of our Drill Team Prep dancers choose to add a Jazz technique class to complement their training. The KJ faculty works hard to create a schedule that allows dancers to take classes back-to-back whenever possible. If your dancer is interested in adding another class, take a look at the classes offered immediately before or after their current class—there is often a perfect fit! Our office staff is always happy to help you find the best schedule for your dancer.

Can my dancer bring a friend to class?

Absolutely! Dance is always more fun with friends, and we'd love for your dancer to invite a buddy to join them!

Friends can always try a class for FREE! They will simply create an account at kjdance.com, add their dancer, and select the Drop-In class they'd like to attend. Our faculty will be notified of the trial and will be ready to welcome them.

If your friend loves class, they can easily enroll online or contact our office for assistance. We can't wait to welcome them to the #THEKJWAY family!

What if my dancer misses a class?

We would love to see your dancer make up a missed class in another hip hop or jazz class. If your dancer is sick or out of town, please go online, and schedule a makeup class that works best for your family.
