From the Principal’s Desk – April 2026

Hello Families,

Happy spring! I am looking forward to some warmer weather and the longer, sunnier days ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to attend your child’s parent/teacher conference this week. These conversations are an important part of supporting student growth and success, and we truly value your partnership.

One of our biggest concerns at TCE continues to be student absenteeism and tardiness. It is very important that students attend school every day unless they are ill. When students miss school, they miss valuable instruction that cannot be fully replaced. Traveling during the school year is not recommended, and please note that teachers are not able to provide lessons or curriculum in advance for absences due to travel.

Thank you for participating in our school store. We are earning money for our school, and teachers have received many gift cards that they can use to support their classrooms. We truly appreciate your support!

The Smarter Balanced Assessment (state-required assessment for students in grades 3–5) will begin at the end of April. Families of students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will receive a letter and testing schedule after spring break with more detailed information.

I hope you all enjoy a restful and fun spring break next week. We look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready to learn!

🥞 5th Grade Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser – April 11
Join us on Saturday, April 11 from 8:00–10:00 AM at Mill Creek Applebee’s for a delicious pancake breakfast fundraiser. For just $12 per ticket, enjoy pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, and a beverage. All proceeds support 5th Grade Camp at Camp Kiloqua, helping ensure every student can attend this special experience. Buy your tickets here!

Don’t forget—Class Group Photo Day is coming up! Be sure your student is ready to smile and be part of this year’s memories.

🌎 Multicultural Night – April 24
Celebrate the diversity of our amazing school community! Multicultural Night will be an evening filled with culture, food, and connection. Every minute of school time is valuable for your student's educational and social growth. Please make sure your kids are on time to line up with their class no later than 9:05 AM.

Why regular, on-time attendance is important:

1. Regular attendance allows children to benefit from participating in quality early education.

2. A habit of attendance IS a school readiness skill.

3. Good attendance reflects strong parent engagement.
