The Wildcat Way
October 5, 2026

From the principal's desk!
Wow... I cannot believe we are already into the Fall season and are almost one quarter of the way done with the school year! Time flies when you are learning! There has been some amazing things I have had the pleasure of seeing during my first eight weeks of being the principal of Lincoln Middle School. I can't wait to see what the rest of the school year looks like! Here are a few updates:
Attendance matters! On time matters!
Parents,
We need your help in getting our Wildcats to school everyday and on time. Studies show that students that attend school everyday and are on time and ready to learn get better grades and perform better on tests. Make school attendance a priority in your household. Here are some ways you can help your student be ready to learn everyday:
- Help your student maintain daily routines by setting times to finish homework, eat dinner, and go to sleep.
- Consider limiting the use of electronics at least an hour before bedtime.
- Practice good habits like washing your hands or dressing appropriately for the weather to limit your child from getting sick.

Lockdown drills Tuesday, October 6
On Tuesday, October 6th, Lincoln Middle School will be conducting our safety drills as mandated by the State of Illinois. These drills will help prepare us in the event of a real emergency. Please discuss with your students the seriousness of the drills.
Picture make-up day Thursday, October 8
If your student was absent on picture day last month, you have another opportunity Thursday, October 8th. Make sure they bring their brightest smiles~
Wildcat athletics!
Our students are not only amazing in the classrooms, they are amazing on the field and on the courts! Both of our cross country teams (girls and boys) won 2nd place overall in our conference. We also had the #1 boys champion and the #3 girls champion! Way to run!
Our soccer teams are still dominating their competition as well. We are one of the best teams in our conference, and we are not stopping! As we get closer to the playoffs, we want all of our parents and community to come and support our soccer teams!
Our girls basketball season is also off to an amazing start with home wins over Heritage last week. Our Lady Wildcats were focused and pounced on their competition.
Last week was the debut of our Wildcat cheerleading team. We saw cheering, tumbling, and lots of smiles as they performed for our packed gymnasium!
