4 yr Old Preschool

Kaitlin, the naurlist, visited us to talk about different types of animals and how they stay warm in the winter. She shared a book, animal hides, and even brought her live turtle to teach us about hibernaing animals. They also had their first visit from Miss Lori from the Public Library. She taught us a lot of fun facts about Pengiuns during her visit.

Kindergarten Readiness

Readiness students have enjoyed using the mouse bots and activities we received from a STEM grant for Storytime STEM packs. We read a story and then worked in small groups to solve problems or challenges.

Kindergarten

Kinder just wrapped up a unit on King's and Queen's with a Tea Party! Fun was had by all! In science they have been learning about push and pull. They worked to answer these questions: Can we knock down a wall made of concrete using a wrecking ball and can we knock down the bowling pins. Both great experiences with hands on materials.

2nd Grade

In science we have been talking about erosion. Students got to create a model of a mountain with corn meal and see what happens as water runs down it over time. We finished our knowledge domain over the cycles in nature. Kaitlin from the nature center came and did a fun activity showing how the water cycle works!!

Third Grade

3rd graders have started a book bingo to help get in some different book choices. It has been such a great start! Take a peak at it and see if you can help them find some good books to read!

3 year old Preschool

The 3-year-old preschool students have been working on developing both large and fine motor skills. They have enjoyed the indoor recess time spent throwing and catching balloons as well as velcro balls with sticky mitts. This helped us work on our large motor skills while the cold kept us indoors. The students have also been working on their fine motor development by stringing beads, rolling play-doh and using precise movements with toy tools. All of this play has helped their hands gain strength to hold writing utensils and begin to learn about the letters in their own names! Not only has all of this play been great for their physical development, but we are also seeing so much growth in their self-confidence as they grow and accomplish hard things!
