At the start of the quarter, we held grade level behavior reset meeting to refocus on expectations and help all students have a successful year. We encourage you to check out the video and slides from that meeting and chat with your student about what we covered. It’s a great way to reinforce what we’re working on at school and keep everyone on the same page. Thank you for your continued support—we’re off to a strong start!

Warmly,

Tera Thomas

You are invited to our Veteran's Day Parade at SMS. Please come and join our SMS students, as we THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. As you drive through our parking lot, our Strongsville Veteran's will be given a small token of our appreciation while serenaded with a tribute of American music from our select band, choir, and orchestra. Thank you for all for your service to protect our country.

The Parade will begin at 9:00am on November 11th. You will follow the signs through our parking lot. As you slowly move through the line, roll down your windows so you can hear the music that is being dedicated to you. You are welcome to stop and listen for awhile. Spotting False Information Together

In today’s world, it’s more important than ever for students to develop media literacy skills. To support that, we’re sharing this engaging TED-Ed video: How False News Can Spread. We encourage you to watch it together as a family! It’s a great conversation starter about how information travels online and how we can be more thoughtful about what we believe and share. Below are a few questions to spark discussion:

  • What surprised you most about how quickly false information spreads?
  • Have you ever seen or shared something online that turned out to be untrue? What did you do next?
  • How can we check if information is reliable before sharing it with others?

Enjoy the conversation and thank you for partnering with us to build these critical skills!
