Advanced Academics & GT Updates
September 2024
Back to School Season
We're excited to launch another school year, and we're even more excited to invite you to our Fall coordinator meeting where we are planning to provide you with a strong foundation for a year of growth and success! We'll begin our morning on Oct. 16 with opportunities to connect with advanced academics partners, such as the College Board, ACT, Texas College Bridge, OnRamps, and more. Toward the middle of the meeting, we'll shift to Gifted & Talented services by digging in to critical information about regional offerings, the GT state plan, and TEA updates.
SECONDARY ADVANCED ACADEMICS
Region 10's advanced academics services are part of the Instructional Practices Package and align with CCMR as well as secondary core content areas to support ALL students.

Remember that, in the 2025-2026 school year, CCMR credit can only be earned through College Prep courses that are on an approved TEA list by a student who is in 12th grade. Access this slide deck for more details about College Prep courses.
As they prepare for the TEA approval process, Texas College Bridge now has required training for this 2024-2025 school year. Check out the Texas College Bridge Resource page and the links below.

GT Reminders
- The agreement between Region 10 and local school districts is that teachers are required to attend GT Foundations Parts 1 & 2 in person, as the information in these sessions is critical to meeting the needs of GT students. Parts 3-5 are to be completed online, and can be found on our My Pro platform. The five GT Foundations courses do not need to be completed in sequential order.
- Please remember to print your R10 certificates and keep a hard copy safe, in case you cannot access the digital copies. We hate for educators to have to retake sessions due to lack of documentation!
