Stagebarn Middle School Activities

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to announce that we have developed a new attendance email address for our students. This email address will allow students and parents to report absences and tardies and receive notifications regarding attendance issues.

The new email address is: MeadeSMSOffice@k12.sd.us.

Please note that emails to this address will be received by our attendance office staff and will be forwarded to your child's teacher for record-keeping purposes. We encourage you and your child to utilize this new system to report any absences or tardy in a timely and efficient manner. This will help us to maintain accurate attendance records and ensure that your child receives the necessary support to succeed in school.

If you have any questions or concerns about this new system, please do not hesitate to contact the attendance office at (605) 787-4172 or at MeadeSMSOffice@k12.sd.us.

Thank you for your continued support in ensuring the academic success of your child.

As you may have heard, in addition to high school students, middle school students will be allowed to take home their devices. This change requires a technology fee of $25 per student or $50 per family. However, this fee will be waived if a Free and Reduced Meal application is filled out for the household. Fees are waived regardless if you qualify or not for the program by simply filling out the application. Since COVID-19, we have seen a significant drop in applications of our Free and Reduced Meal applications. This drop puts us at risk for federal funding of Title I services that focuses on early intervention teachers at the elementary level to support students. We hope by waiving the technology fees we will see an increase of applications. All applications are confidential.

Back to School Art Show!

Mrs. Smith is hosting the 6th Annual Back to School Art Show.

Did you create any work of art this summer? Working on something now? Drawings, paintings, photography, sculpture, crafts, anything goes! Share your creativity with your Stagebarn family.

Please bring your artwork to the Art Room before or after school. Mrs. Smith will help you fill out a title card and your work will be displayed in the Stagebarn lobby!

7th and 8th Grade: equipment checkout and paperwork turn-in is after school on Monday, August 28 until 4:10 pm.

You must have a physical from AFTER July 1, 2023 before you can practice.

The entire 10 page packet needs to be filled out by both parents and athletes in order to participate. Packets are available in the front office at Stagebarn if you don't have the ability to print at home.

Equipment and paperwork checkout will be on the first day of school (8.28) from 3:10-4:10. Please have your physical and the Activities Packet completed.

7th Grade: first practice is after school on Monday, August 28.

All players and parents are invited to attend a parent meeting from 4:45-5:00 pm.
