Required Back-to-School Forms:

This year, we have only two required forms for families to complete. The first (linked below) is our district Student Housing Questionnaire. Only one of these forms is required, per family, and is brief in nature, asking only for housing-related information.

The second form is our Food and Nutrition Application. At North, every student receives free breakfast/lunch. However, every family is still required to complete this form (again, one per family). If you have a child attending a different Everett Public School (EPS), please know that you can submit this form to any school of attendance and it will be counted for your family across all EPS schools.

This form can be returned to the North office or emailed back to the KIT office: KIToffice@everettsd.org

Parent Tech Tools

This past summer was a big one for the Everett Public Schools as our district Technology Team transitioned our student information system to the Synergy Education Platform. Synergy comes with a convenient family portal entitle ParentVUE. This secure online portal gives families a direct connection to their student’s learning journey. With instant updates and easy access to attendance, schedules, and grades, ParentVUE keeps families informed and engaged in their student’s progress throughout the school year. With one login, you can view records for all your children enrolled in any school in the district.

If you have not already done so, please take a moment to CLICK HERE to setup your ParentVUE account. Additionally, below are two additional links for your consideration and access.

Attendance Matters

As students enter middle school, regular attendance becomes even more important to their present and future opportunities to succeed. In fact, By the sixth grade, absenteeism becomes the most significant red flags signaling that a student is not on track to graduate high school. Eighth grade attendance rates of 90% and above (no less than 18 absences in a year) is a stronger predictor of high school graduation than eighth grade test scores. As such, we view regular attendance with the utmost sincerity at North as our STARs cannot learn at high levels if they are not present for these opportunities.

As your child/children do need to be away from school for illness and other understandable reasons, please know that you will receive an automated message confirming your child's absence. This communication will allow you to conform their absence/reason for our records. You can also excuse your child's absence by email or phone (information/link below).

What are STAR Advisory Blocks?

At North, we utilize a regular STAR block to connect with our students beyond their "graded" classes. This block occurs between first and second period, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The intent for these near-daily blocks are "advisory" in nature as we work to ever-improve how we grow and support our students. During STAR, we structure everything from academic interventions (including iReady Pro) to teaching specific skills that support executive functioning. Due to our Opening Week (8/25 - 8/27) and Fall testing schedule (9/1 - 9/5), our STAR advisory blocks will not begin until the week of September 8th.

As we get into the school year, below are a few of the topics we will cover during our forthcoming STAR advisory blocks.

September:

  • How to use our North organizers for daily, class-by-class use
  • How to login and use StudentVUE (Synergy for students)
  • How to continually organize your binder and backpack
  • How to access and use your student Outlook email account

October:

  • How to check grades and make a plan for improvement
  • How to prioritize assignments and other to-dos
  • How to connect with teachers and discuss make-ups and re-dos
