Join your friends and neighbors in a safe, warm, dry environment and walk to your heart's content. Start your program when you wish and exercise as often as you like. It's the perfect workout plan!

Where do I walk? Dakota Hills Middle School (DHMS), Rosemount Middle School (RMS), Valley Middle School (VMS) or the Eastview High School Activity Center (EVHS-AC). Registration allows you access to all four schools.

When do I walk? On your first visit, receive a schedule including all three locations listing skip dates, an identification badge to be worn while walking and a walkers' map of the school. Facilities are open Monday through Thursday, 6:00-9:00 p.m. (EVHS-AC open Monday and Wednesday) and Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon (middle schools only), except on skip dates, when other activities or school vacations conflict with the walking schedule.

How do I participate? Preregistration is required.

What is the cost? Fee is $19/person, $25/couple*, or $29/family. *Residing at the same address.

**Drop-in rate of $5/person is available at EVHS-AC only.

Join us for the Parenting Conference: Fostering Resilience: Supporting Learners, Strengthening Communities on Saturday, November 7, from 8:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Eastview High School in Apple Valley. This free event features opening remarks from Superintendent Michael Bolsoni, a keynote on “The Power of Brave Parenting” by Dr. Kathryn Hecht, and more than 20 breakout session topics presented by local experts and District 196 staff. Parents and caregivers of children from birth through high school will gain practical strategies, helpful resources and fresh ideas to support their families. Registration is encouraged, and walk-ins are welcome!

This event is free, but registration is recommended, and required for those needing childcare or an interpreter (ASL, Somali and Spanish available). Childcare is available for children ages two years and older for $10 per family. Registration for childcare closes October 30.
