Voters Approve Prop O!
A Message from Dr. Nisha Patel
Dear Clayton Family,
We are excited to share that, based on preliminary election results, voters have approved Prop O, the first phase in supporting key facility improvements across the School District of Clayton.
Funds from Prop O will support students today and for generations to come by addressing several important projects, including:
- Fully renovating Glenridge Elementary School
- Constructing a new Learning Lab at Clayton High School
- Modernizing the Gay Field Athletic Complex to enhance safety and accessibility
We truly appreciate our community for taking the time to learn about Prop O and participating in this decision. Without increasing the tax rate, the passing of this bond referendum will help ensure our schools remain strong, safe and responsive to the evolving needs of our students.
Now that Prop O has passed, our focus will be on finalizing project designs, refining cost estimates and developing final construction plans. We plan to begin construction of the Learning Lab at CHS in early 2027, make enhancements to the Gay Field Athletic Complex from spring 2027 to spring 2028, and begin the two-year renovation of Glenridge Elementary in summer 2027.
We are committed to keeping our entire community informed as we move forward with these projects and further develop plans to improve other School District of Clayton facilities, as outlined in our Long-Range Facilities Master Plan. Please continue to visit ClaytonPropO.org for information and to get answers to your questions.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we build on Clayton’s strong tradition of excellence. We look forward to completing these projects and welcoming you into these new spaces to see firsthand how these renovations benefit our students, our schools and our community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Nisha Patel
Superintendent
